Eddie Cai originally thought it would be a case of 'Insider Betrayal,' but Nikolai boarded the plane smoothly without any incident.
"Isn't this Insider Betrayal?" Eddie Cai asked, confused.
"Hubby, what do you mean?" Jessica tilted her head, clearly puzzled. She knew how to warm up the bed, but she didn't know what 'Insider Betrayal' meant.
"It's nothing. I'll just keep watching the show." Eddie Cai coughed. Jessica's actions were really hard to resist. Women shouldn't be too beautiful; it's bad news.
After Kuang Ka received the Supercomputer, he prepared to return to the village.
Just then, an explosion occurred in the village. It seemed there was an accident at the chemical plant processing the poppies. Following the explosion were the screams of the villagers and employees. These villagers tried to flee the village, while the guards approached with guns to investigate what was happening.
Two oral tentacles immediately wrapped around the guards' necks, pulling them forcefully closer, followed by a pounce and biting, tearing the guards to death.
A large number of Hunters appeared, accompanied by the debut of a Thanatos Tyrant.
"What is going on? Deal with them!" Kuang Ka ordered his subordinates. Helicopters quickly took off to suppress the bioweapons that had appeared in the village.
Facing the large-caliber machine guns of the armed helicopters, even the Thanatos Tyrant would struggle to hold up. The Hunters, who were happily slaughtering, were shredded into pieces by the storm of bullets.
Whoosh! The Thanatos Tyrant grabbed a large millstone and hurled it into the air, hitting the armed helicopter squarely. The propeller snapped, forcing the helicopter to plummet from the sky.
In the distance, a sniper rifle fired a follow-up shot directly at the fuel tank.
Boom! The helicopter instantly exploded into a ball of flames.
The Talos Tyrant was given the command to kill all enemies except Kuang Ka himself.
The activated Talos Tyrant began indiscriminate attacks. The Federal Special Forces attacking from afar were repelled; even though they retreated quickly, half of them were cut in two by the sweeping fire of the Gatling Machine Gun!
Chapter 456: Watch Out for Bandits Behind You
As Umbrella's top-tier bioweapon, the Talos Tyrant was worth its price of two billion US dollars. With sufficient ammunition and weapons, it could fight an army of a thousand men.
Eddie Cai remained on the mountain, watching everything unfold below. This looked like a case of Insider Betrayal. Right now, he didn't know if it was Simmons's idea or General Morgan's idea. Both of them had the authority to deploy the Thanatos Tyrant, and although they cooperated, they were not united in purpose.
Kuang Ka watched the fallen Federation soldiers and began to sneer. Under the cover of the Talos Tyrant, he quickly ran into the village. He was immediately met by a tall Black man wearing strange protective gear. The huge claw on the man's right hand pierced him straight through the heart, and then he was tossed away like trash.
On the other side, the plane carrying Nikolai was still flying, but Nikolai, along with two mercenaries, disembarked. They were going back to retrieve the Talos Tyrant.
Nikolai had long known that Kuang Ka would be ambushed. After doing business so many times, he was bound to be targeted. He was just surprised that the Federation was behind the current operation, which made Nikolai even more excited—he would use the lives of the Federation dogs as a sacrifice for the dissolved Tsarist Russian Alliance.
The leader of this operation was General Morgan's subordinate, Ockham. The reason they didn't send Sheila or Parker was due to distrust. Capable subordinates aren't necessarily loyal. This was a secret operation and could only be entrusted to the most trusted confidants.
Meanwhile, in the village, after the Talos Tyrant saw that its protected target was dead, it immediately activated its emergency protocol: killing all living creatures to destroy evidence and transmitting a unique radio signal to nearby strongholds. It would wait for Umbrella personnel to retrieve it; since the employer was dead, it was now ownerless.
"Reporting to headquarters, Talos's firepower is too fierce, and the target is now deceased. Requesting backup, requesting backup." Just as Ockham finished speaking, he saw the previously stationary Talos begin charging again.
It ran while scanning the surrounding life forms, utilizing various weapons based on the targets' locations and evasion maneuvers.
Armed helicopters soon flew in from the periphery. South Thailand's own military strength was not significant, which allowed the Federation armed helicopters to fly freely without local forces daring to object.
Whoosh! A surface-to-air missile was launched, and Talos immediately used a Stinger Missile from three kilometers away to shoot down the armed helicopter.
Tanks couldn't traverse the terrain, so only armed helicopters could arrive quickly.
Fifteen minutes later, there were no survivors left except for Ockham and a few guards. The fifty members of the Federal Bio-Terrorism Countermeasure Unit dispatched this time had all died here. Not a single one survived; all met a horrific end.
They were either cut in half by the Gatling Machine Gun or grabbed by Talos's massive right arm and crushed alive, helmet and all.
Nikolai used a remote computer to shut down Talos, then walked up to Ockham. "You tried Insider Betrayal? Transfer the money to my account, and I can spare your lives."
"For the Federation, for honor, go die!" A soldier pulled out a Tactical Dagger and rushed forward, roaring.
Nikolai quickly grabbed the soldier's arm, spun around, snatched the dagger, and slit the man's throat, achieving a counter-kill. "How foolish. Isn't it better to buy your life with money?"
Ockham suddenly picked up a handgun and shot the other two guards dead. "I accept your terms."
"A truly smart man. I like opponents like you," Nikolai sneered.
Ockham killed the two guards simply because he didn't want anyone to know how he survived. Although he would likely be demoted or even sent to a military tribunal upon return, only the living have hope; the dead have no right to speak of it.
Eddie Cai watched from behind, finding it very strange that these people were conducting such dirty transactions in private. A Federation officer killed his own subordinates just to buy his life with money. As for Nikolai, that guy was trying to squeeze every last penny out of the dead!
As the two were talking, Nikolai felt a sudden alarm and quickly turned around. Unfortunately, he was met with a violent pain in his head and immediately lost consciousness.
Everyone present was knocked unconscious, while Jessica and Lisa stopped steadily where they were. They had just used extreme speed for the raid, utilizing the Electromagnetic Barrier to push the air aside, accelerating their route. They canceled the barrier just before reaching the targets to knock them out; otherwise, the Electromagnetic Barrier would have smashed them to death!
Eddie Cai walked over and picked up Nikolai's computer and controller, which contained the methods for controlling the Talos Tyrant.
He chose not to finish them off, instead taking everything useful.
Hilda flew the helicopter to the designated landing spot. Jessica single-handedly loaded the Talos Tyrant back into its container. It was hauled away by the helicopter, bringing the Insider Betrayal to a perfect close.
After boarding the plane and leaving South Thailand, Eddie Cai played with the computer in his hand. "This was truly effortless. Very well done, Jessica. I need to reward you."
"Here?" Jessica asked, confused.
"Of course. Don't you think it would be exciting?" Eddie Cai smirked.
Jessica shook her head. "As long as I'm with you, it's always exciting."
Who could resist such cheesy flirtation!
Two hours later, Nikolai woke up and found that he had lost everything. His two subordinates were still alive. He killed them without hesitation, but after looking at Ockham, he chose not to kill him.
As a mercenary, he still maintained integrity, and keeping Ockham alive meant he could be useful later.
Nikolai swore he would find out who attacked him; he could not let this humiliation go unavenged.
Arriving at a secret mountainous area, Ye Minzhi was waiting there with Female Hank.
Ye Minzhi, wearing a short cheongsam, looked striking as she nonchalantly smoked a cigarette. "Do you think he can succeed?"
Alvara nodded. "He is very strong, inhumanly strong. Nothing can stop him!"
"You've certainly become his admirer! Haha, is this a case of 'if you can't beat them, join them'? How interesting." Ye Minzhi blew smoke rings, calculating something internally.
Soon, the helicopter arrived below the mountainous area. Eddie Cai jumped off the plane, his clothes slightly disheveled. "I got the item. Where is yours?"
Ye Minzhi produced a contract. "One hundred hectares of farmland. These areas are all yours, with fifty years of ownership. That should be enough for you."
Chapter 457: Alexia's Daughter
Ye Minzhi exhaled a smoke ring. "It cost me a lot of money to acquire this land; did you think it was easy? The price has been agreed upon: cash for goods. If you want to pursue me, you'll need a different approach."
Eddie Cai tossed the computer over, took the contract, and said, "Sorry, I don't have the money to pursue you. That's all. I'm leaving."
