Chapter 281 - 281

Soon, Eddie Cai made the call. "General Bromski? We found traces of an Umbrella stronghold in this village, specifically the chemical plant thirty kilometers north. We request to follow along for supervision. You fight your battle, and we won't take anything."

"Fine, I will lead the team personally. You just wait in the village." Bromski finished speaking, hung up the phone, and began assembling his troops for the attack.

Soon, two helicopters flew over from the Black Sea. After receiving local clearance, they joined the air force operation. This was the anti-terrorism squad sent by General Morgan, coming to take advantage of the situation.

Although the diplomatic relations between Tsarist Russia and the Western Federation were not very good, they knew what the other party wanted. They ordered Bromski to keep a close eye on these ill-intentioned individuals. They must obtain Umbrella's legacy. Whatever is on whose territory belongs to them!

Jill and Claire and the other women sat on the plane chatting about various topics. They weren't afraid of the cold, but since it was snowing outside, staying inside the plane was more comfortable.

Eddie Cai, Chris, and the other BSAA field agents sat outside the village drinking vodka and smoking cigarettes. "Want one?"

Chris waved his hand. "Thanks, I don't smoke."

"I don't smoke either, but these aren't just cigarettes; they are made using medicinal herbs. A pack costs two hundred thousand US dollars. Good stuff, beneficial for chronic pharyngitis." Eddie Cai distributed the cigarettes to the special agents.

"Is it really that magical?" asked Kuent, the team member wearing a strange, specialized helmet.

"Of course, money allows you to research anything. I prefer enjoyment, and naturally, having more children means higher expenses, haha." Eddie Cai boasted occasionally. His legal wives included Jill, Claire, and Excella.

"It really seems that having money allows you to do whatever you want. No wonder you invest so much money into the BSAA every year," said Keith, smoking a cigarette.

"If you have money, just give back to society. I'm not interested in making money; I'm more interested in spending it. By the way, Chris, did you find a new lover?" Eddie Cai laughed.

Chris immediately shook his head. "No, don't talk nonsense."

"No way! That day, Kuent and I went to your place to drink. We heard a woman's voice in your apartment. Hey, we get it—that's good news, proving you're not a bachelor anymore," the carefree Keith revealed a secret.

As soon as this was mentioned, Chris's expression changed, as if he had recalled something terrifying.

"Oh my, that's big news! Chris actually found a girlfriend. Hey, you need to work hard. Look, you're already an uncle; it's about time you had a kid with that girlfriend of yours," Eddie Cai laughed.

Chris's expression became even more exaggerated; he felt like throwing up. It was unclear if he was unaccustomed to the smoking or if he was thinking of that so-called girlfriend.

Everyone joked around and boasted a bit. If they hadn't been drinking vodka, they would have frozen to death in this icy environment.

Soon, a large number of armed helicopters flew into the sky, bearing the Tsarist Russia emblem.

"Looks like they're here. Let's get on the plane and follow them. It's time to settle the score with Umbrella!" Seeing them in the distance, Eddie Cai returned to his own plane.

Meanwhile, on the other side, many workers were still working inside the chemical plant, and a huge transport plane loaded with supplies flew away. Sergei personally boarded the plane, ensuring the materials wouldn't be hijacked.

Loyalty? Spencer surrendered himself. Should he stay here and perish with the branch laboratory? Better to retreat first and find an opportunity to come back and settle the score later.

Chapter 464: t-abyss

Nikolai was left behind to handle an important matter: designing an ambush here and annihilating all invading enemies. For this, he would gain authorization to use the remaining biological weapons that couldn't be transported, allowing him to set up the most exquisite trap.

Wesker went in first. Just as he was about to spread the virus, he noticed that the people here were acting strangely. Furthermore, the water source tested positive for excessive T-Virus levels. How high must the concentration be to spread in water?

Workers were still coughing, and a strange atmosphere permeated the entire chemical plant. In some rooms, Wesker even found wild dogs infected and turned into Zombie Dogs, all locked up as if prepared for a trap.

"Sergei would never do something like this. That old man has his own dignity and steadfastness. This kind of behavior... could it be Nikolai?" Wesker analyzed silently in his heart. While analyzing, he infiltrated the area and quickly found the defense layout map on a computer.

In the ground laboratory, Nikolai looked at the two modified Talos Tyrants, his eyes flickering. He was left behind to cover the retreat, and Sergei's order was for him to set traps and kill everyone who came to explore.

To showcase the demeanor of Tsarist Russia soldiers and simultaneously establish the reputation of the biological weapons, allowing for better sales of these weapons and also for fundraising.

Spencer's idea of eternal life influenced Sergei. Sergei remained loyal to Spencer but took on the identity of an heir. He inherited Spencer's ambition and last wish, determined to create a virus that could achieve eternal life.

The condition for eternal life is first becoming a eunuch. Without the root of sin, one can single-mindedly pursue eternal life and focus attention on the matter of salvation. Furthermore, one becomes immune to honey traps. A hero finds it difficult to resist a beauty? If you become a bear, it's easy to pass.

Wesker was still exploring the chemical plant when he heard a tremendous noise. It seemed a super high-power elevator was operating, and a large number of Hunters appeared in the chemical plant.

Outside the chemical plant, Tsarist Russia forces collaborated with the FBC and BSAA, two bio-terrorism countermeasure organizations. Ground troops were dispatched for exploration, with armed helicopters providing fire support from the air.

Since they didn't know if the enemy had anti-aircraft weapons, they landed far away and proceeded on foot.

Eddie Cai protected his wife Jill and followed the main force. He saw his wife Rachel also joining the Bio-Terrorism Countermeasure Committee's team, and when no one was looking, she gave him a flying kiss.

The modified T-Virus mutated quickly. This improved virus caused severe mutations in the workers here.

Those who were incompatible turned into zombies, while those who were compatible became a kind of sticky zombie monster. Their appearance was very different from humans; they merely maintained a humanoid shape and could no longer be considered people.

Wesker was still observing in the dark. This new type of zombie seemed to be created by a new variant virus.

Tsarist Russia's armed personnel were advancing in formation. All of this was being recorded by monitors and watched by Nikolai. "The show is about to start, you traitors!"

"Arrived at the destination. A large number of zombies have appeared in the target area!" reported the leading captain.

"Eliminate the zombies, advance into the chemical plant, and neutralize the anti-air defenses inside the plant. Only then can the helicopters support you!" Bromski commanded from the plane.

There were only zombies along the way. This massive chemical plant looked very similar to the waste treatment facility in Raccoon City. Both had huge furnaces and refining equipment, and despite the frigid snowy weather, the furnace temperatures remained scorching hot.

"Be careful, something is strange," Eddie Cai warned.

Jill nodded. "I know, dear."

The armed squad advanced slowly. The zombies they encountered were all ordinary, merely prey for professional soldiers to earn merit.

As Eddie Cai passed a ventilation duct, he noticed a lot of residual liquid here, which looked sticky. He didn't know what it was, but it felt like something left behind by a creature.

"t-abyss?" A word flashed through Eddie Cai's mind. Wait, the t-abyss virus was only still in the research stage, right?

Soon, some liquid fell behind the armed squad, mixed with the snowflakes. The soldiers looked back but found no trace of an enemy, so they continued to advance.

Above these solutions, a distorted, humanoid object gradually took shape.

"Watch out!" Chris said, and then decisively opened fire.

The bullets hit the twisted monster, but only splashed some liquid, inflicting no fatal wounds. Instead, a Tsarist Russia squad member was grabbed by the monster, which zipped up the ventilation duct and carried the member away.

"Damn it, pursue!" The captain angrily led his team in pursuit along the ventilation duct, while the others continued to advance.

They hadn't gone far when they found the deceased squad member beneath a large oil tank tower up ahead. He looked as if his blood had been drained, becoming extremely shriveled, and his expression still held immense terror, suggesting he had encountered something horrifying.

There was a very bizarre wound on his neck, looking as if he had encountered a large leech.

Eddie Cai walked up to inspect. "His blood is all gone; it seems to have been sucked away. That monster appears to be a bloodsucker, unlike zombies that eat flesh."

"Is there any way to deal with it?" asked Bromski from the plane after hearing the analysis report and viewing the transmitted images.

"It's unclear for now, but the weakness of any creature is in its head. If you encounter one, try shooting the head. If we can dissect this monster, we should gain a lot of information," Eddie Cai offered a universal solution.

Screams were heard again, this time accompanied by machine gun fire, but then there was a sound of metal twisting, and the screams abruptly ceased. It seemed something else terrifying had happened.

"Let's go look." Eddie Cai picked up his sniper rifle and led the way.
