Chapter 288 - 288

"If nothing's wrong, come back quickly. Why run so far away if there's nothing going on? Hurry back, those places are too dangerous. Be careful not to get tricked." Eddie Cai felt a bit speechless; Sienna really had guts.

Caroline walked ashore and twisted the neck of a guard who had been tailing her, intending to call the police. She threw him directly into the ravine, where something down below would naturally eat him alive.

"We know, see you later then. Take good care of your kidneys! Haha!" Sienna teased her husband and hung up the phone.

Caroline said coldly, "You were almost discovered. Next time, wait until you're back in a safe place to call, you brazen fox!"

Sienna lightly tossed her hair. She was wearing a full-coverage special agent combat suit. "How am I brazen? I only dress nicely when I'm at home with you. And you call yourself my best friend? You're not much better than me. Hehe, let's go, time to head back."

From the moment Sienna and Caroline landed on the island until they copied the data and installed the wireless network tracking device, none of it was discovered. The monitors were useless, and Sergei was personally stationed on the island.

The former Soviet Colonel had no idea that two beautiful female agents had come and gone right under his nose. The island, which was supposed to be impossible to escape from, was, in the eyes of the two women, like a public restroom—they could come and go as they pleased.

Alex had originally intended to proceed with the T-Phobos Virus fusion on Jessica immediately after Jessica passed the fear test.

This fear virus was a semi-finished product created entirely based on the structure of the Progenitor Virus, utilizing adrenaline and human hormones, and finally incorporating the traits of the Turritopsis Jellyfish. While the high fatality rate was removed, the fusion of hormones and the Progenitor Virus resulted in a new fatality rate.

This was the invention Alex was most proud of: a virus that could truly allow one to step halfway into immortality!

Alexia yawned and walked into the laboratory in high heels. Even after giving birth to a child, she remained slender. Her temperament was still incredibly noble. Earlier, she had gone back with Eddie Cai and witnessed Alfred pass the position of family patriarch to Eddie Cai, receiving a certificate of nobility from the British Royal Family.

This resolved Alexia's final concern, leaving her without worries. The Queen's creativity received a qualitative boost, and she is currently focused on researching aerospace industry and computer engineering.

"We should wait until Eddie Cai passes the fear test first. His compatibility with the virus is very high. Moreover, after extracting the light element using the blood of your brother and his son, and adding Lisa's blood, the risk of viral spread should be reduced. Even if it is triggered, it won't necessarily be fatal." Alexia looked at the plants outside the window, which were used for virus testing.

Alex, however, raised her head proudly. "I've been ready for a long time; it's just the psychological aspect that hasn't passed yet. Who isn't afraid of death? Jessica really surprised me."

While the two were still discussing, Eddie Cai walked into the laboratory looking energetic. "Hi, two great beauties, I woke up early this morning and you were both gone. Did you recover that quickly?"

Alex glared at her 'little husband'. "Hmph, today's experiment is starting with you."

Alexia yawned; she hadn't recovered yet. "You two continue. I'm going to see my little baby daughter."

He had to experience a horror movie again. This feeling was like reincarnation, terrifying and alarming, designed to psychologically intimidate.

Once the heart rate accelerates, the connection is easily severed automatically. The difficulty of the Fear Virus lies in overcoming psychological barriers, which already somewhat exceeds the scope of scientific understanding.

Jessica remained close behind, holding Eddie Cai's hand. "Husband, as long as you hold onto one firm thought, nothing can stop you. I believe in you, just like when we first met."

These words seemed to be a hint, suggesting what he should do.

Eddie Cai walked into the laboratory with doubt. Recalling the past, he seemed not to have encountered any thorny difficulties. Even when facing the final mutation of the Nemesis, he remained calm.

The only thing that terrified him was the sea—the mysterious and unpredictable ocean. Falling into the ocean meant death. No matter how much a creature was strengthened, facing the power of nature, it still could not contend against it.

It was only because he knew he couldn't win that he felt fear. If everything was within his grasp, how could he feel fear?

Thinking of this, Eddie Cai began to gain enlightenment in his heart. He felt grateful for Jessica's hint and a sense of debt, deciding he should treat Jessica better in the future.

Initially, he had only regarded Jessica as a tool to control Lisa, but he hadn't expected to be counterattacked by her. This feeling, well, it seemed pretty good!

Thinking of this, Eddie Cai began to steady his mind to face the upcoming test. This time, he would definitely pass, and he would definitely find the secret to eternal life!

Chapter 474: A Certain Scientific Queen's Idea

The first type of movie that appeared was the bloody splatter genre from Europe and America. Eddie Cai was accustomed to scenes of bio-weapons slaughtering civilians. He felt no discomfort regarding these scenes and quickly adapted.

The one-hour test passed. The second type of film that appeared was the ghost horror genre unique to Island Nation. Famous scenes involving Sadako and Kayako appeared. Eddie Cai used to be afraid, but not anymore; instead, he fantasized about what he would do after catching these two female ghosts.

Two hours passed, and the Island Nation horror films brought no discomfort. Eddie Cai even felt he hadn't had enough. A person with psychological deviations naturally wouldn't fear ghosts or spirits.

Alex watched the electrocardiogram on the computer. Her 'little husband's' heart rate and electrical waves fluctuated, but she detected no fear, only a strange fluctuation similar to excitement.

This made Alex confused. What the hell was this! "What did you say to Husband? Why isn't he scared?"

Jessica said calmly, "I just told Husband to strengthen his will and think about beautiful things."

Alex looked thoughtful after hearing this, tapping her chin with a cuticle painted with dazzling purple nail polish. If a man saw her, running into a utility pole while walking or hitting a street lamp while driving would be standard operations, because she was too beautiful and mesmerizing.

Soon, an entire morning passed. Since Eddie Cai was immersed in the movie, he didn't fear; instead, he tried to integrate, challenge, and unlock the shackles of fear in his heart.

Alexia walked in holding her daughter, Leila. "Has Husband still not come out? He's lasted quite a long time this time."

Annette also walked over in high heels. She had finished work and came to check. Hearing the question, she laughed, "When is he not lasting a long time? It's just that we usually surrender first."

"I suspect you're driving, and I have the evidence!" Alexia raised her delicate eyebrows, a mysterious smile hanging on the corner of her mouth.

"That is indeed true," Alex explained seriously. "Annette is right. Eddie Cai's record is over thirty minutes. We were scared out of there in less than ten minutes."

That did seem to be the case, but did something strange get mixed in there?

"Let's try the latest fear test phase; I just finished it yesterday." Emma, the weapon design genius, walked over in silver-white high heels and pressed a button.

Inside the testing room, the instruments began to tighten, and waterproof protection measures were put in place. Simultaneously, the room began to fill with seawater. This was pure, natural seawater; the salty, fishy smell and the sea breeze would create a realistic effect.

"Aren't you afraid of drowning your husband!" Annette worried.

"Don't worry, we can all breathe underwater, did you forget?" Katherine also walked in. She had just finished teaching the bear cubs. Being an auntie and a teacher was truly tiring.

Inside the laboratory, Eddie Cai was already submerged in seawater. Before his eyes appeared a vast ocean. It felt as if he had been dropped into the sea, dragged underwater by a mutated monster, unable to attack, and could only hold his breath repeatedly.

The final fear test arrived: the test of the ocean. Fighting and struggling in a boundless sea where no island could be seen. Striving to survive until he overcame the fear in his heart.

Initially, Eddie Cai was very panicked. He used to have acrophobia, and he still did. Besides acrophobia, he feared the deep sea.

The vast ocean, waves crashing down. The power of nature—a single wave weighing hundreds of tons—smashed Eddie Cai away. Falling into the sea, he choked on several mouthfuls of seawater and nearly suffocated.

Alex constantly monitored her husband's situation. "I think we should hurry up and eat lunch, and then clear the surrounding area. Otherwise, the losses might be quite severe later."

Alexia and Alex exchanged glances. The two supremely talented Queens also had the same idea. "You're right, let's hurry up and move the stuff after eating."

An hour later, Eddie Cai was still constantly trying to use his electromagnetic abilities to contend with the ocean.

He thought of a woman who might have been his wife in a past life. When he was still a "Bastard Hero," his wife, the Ancient One, once said, "When you cannot contend against the current, why not try to follow it?"

This sentence gave him great inspiration. He didn't know why this thought flashed through his mind, but he decided to try to do it that way.

The women who returned from lunch began directing the vines to clear the vicinity and created an Electromagnetic Barrier. They had Rebecca and Katherine take the little ones on the vacation yacht to evacuate to the sea first.

A flicker of excitement flashed in Alex's beautiful eyes. She saw the hope of eternal life. "I think now is the time to give Husband a shot of the Fear Virus. What do you all think?"

This was not just her decision; a vote was needed.

"I agree." Unexpectedly, the first to vote was Jessica, the woman fiercely loyal to Eddie Cai.

Seemingly sensing Alex's questioning gaze, Jessica calmly added, "If anything happens to Husband, I will kill you, then commit suicide, and follow Husband to the other world."
