Chapter 308 - 308

Chris shouted, "Stop playing around here, go find a boat."

"Alright!" The soldier had just put away his pistol when the lake suddenly began to churn, and a giant Salamander burst out of the water, directly swallowing the soldier who was playing with his pistol by the lake!

"Oh my god, what happened?" Sheva was startled; she hadn't even reacted.

Piers asked somewhat confused, "Is that a giant fish? It just swallowed Cass!"

Chris frowned, "This might be the trouble Eddie mentioned. We still don't know how many there are."

"We can make a trap, use a mechanism to create a scarecrow, lure that monster to swallow the scarecrow, and then embed a bomb inside to blow it up!" Sheva came up with a good idea.

No sooner said than done, a bomb-scarecrow was quickly made. The remote was pressed, and the pistol on the scarecrow began firing again.

This time, the giant Salamander quickly appeared. After being parasitized by Plaga, its genes mutated, and it grew larger and larger.

Twenty seconds later, the lake suddenly churned violently. A giant Salamander, over fifteen meters long, floated to the surface belly-up. It was this monster that had swallowed a soldier!

"Helicopter, open fire and provide covering fire!" Chris ordered.

Covering fire has many benefits; it ensures that they won't be ambushed again by monsters feigning death.

After the giant Salamander was torn into pieces, they used grenades to further mutilate the Salamander's corpse. Only then did everyone board the speedboat and cross the lake!

After crossing the lake, there were still many village houses.

It was already night when they arrived, and the search and rescue efforts continued. Working through the night was a common occurrence.

Here, Chris and his team encountered a mutated giant. They were startled at first, but relying on their powerful firepower, they quickly killed the giant.

Outside, a large number of villagers, carrying torches and farm tools, began to surround them, splitting Chris and his team apart.

The squad members were forced into a defensive battle here, and Leon once again met Luis in the old house.

"Hey, Federal Agent, we meet again. Why is it every time I see you, I feel like nothing good is happening? You'd better pray you brought enough ammo; they've gone berserk and it'll take a while for them to recover," Luis said.

"Who are you, and how do you know these things?" Chris demanded.

"Hey, hey, hey, I'm not obligated to answer you. I'm just a villager here. I'm too lazy to talk to you. If you want to live, pick up your gun and fight, Federal Agent!" Luis did not answer.

Just as Chris was about to say something, the villagers began to attack.

At this point, the Chainsaw Man also entered the fray, wielding a chainsaw. The buzzing sound made one's scalp tingle. How could such terrifying things exist in the world?

A difficult defensive battle began. It was still raining, and it was night, making it very hard to see the situation outside.

Chapter 502: Ai Shi Li Bringing Trouble Upon Herself

A twenty-year-old youth already covered in wrinkles, a dwarf with pale white hair. This was the consequence of inbreeding, and among nobles, to maintain the purity of their bloodline, dirty deeds were abundant.

As a noble, Salazar had quite a collection of treasures, all of which Eddie took out.

In a castle room, there were no traps. Eddie was eating a large amount of meat and wine here, along with some wild vegetables picked from outside, roasted over a fire, and drizzled with beef fat from a steak.

With two beautiful women accompanying him, this life was truly divine.

Salazar was furious; the intruder had disappeared. He swore he would deal with that guy.

His right hand was also severely injured and was being secretly repaired in the laboratory. So, Salazar had no immediate way to deal with Eddie unless he lured the other party to the underground excavation site, to the Plaga Mother, where he might still have a chance to win.

Ashley held a wine glass, eating steak, which tasted quite good. "Eddie, I never dreamed it would be this exciting, having dinner in the enemy's territory."

"Perhaps we'll even need to spend the night here. It's too late, and going out isn't a good choice. Are you scared?" Eddie smirked.

"Oh, you always tease me. I'm not scared. Aren't you my boss? Protecting your employees is what a boss should do, right? Cheers!" Ashley raised her glass and said cheerfully.

Clink! The two clinked glasses and drank the red wine in one gulp.

"Eat quickly. Once we're done, we should get some rest. Today, it's destined that we won't be able to deal with those people so quickly," Eddie smiled. There was a large Simmons bed in the room, enough for Ashley to rest.

Taking advantage of this time to explore the castle for secrets wouldn't be bad either.

After eating and drinking to his fill, Eddie was about to go out and explore. It was easier alone.

Ashley, however, called out, "Eddie, can you stay and talk? I'm scared here!"

Eddie was a bit speechless, "Lisa is very capable; you don't need to be afraid."

"I don't want to protect her. I'm your bodyguard, not hers," Lisa suddenly said, winking at Ashley where Eddie couldn't see.

Ashley was stunned for a moment, then looked a little embarrassed, secretly giving Lisa a thumbs-up, praising her.

Eddie pondered for a moment, "Alright, but be careful. I'm not a good person."

"I'm only afraid you're a good person! Hehe, come here, let's chat slowly. I'm very curious about you. Can you tell me how you escaped Raccoon City? I think each of you is a hero!" Ashley's beautiful eyes were full of longing.

Ai Shi Li was indeed a bit of a nuisance, but if commanded well, Ai Shi Li could still be quite helpful. At least this girl possessed a rare strength and courage among girls; she wouldn't be a pushover, which was very commendable.

On the other side, Chris was still fighting in the heavy rain. Fortunately, these berserk villagers only temporarily lost their minds due to the side effects of the Plaga at night.

The recovered villagers quickly retreated, leaving a trail of bodies, without fear or apprehension. Their eyes were very calm, as if they had received some command.

As soon as the villagers retreated, Luis pushed open the door and left, "I'm going to get something. You guys wait for me in the castle."

"Hey, we can go together. That way, the success rate will be higher," Leon stopped Luis.

Luis shook his head, "I don't trust Federal Agents."

Chris said, "Then we'll go with you. We, BSAA, are affiliated with the United Nations and are not subject to any regional jurisdiction. You can trust us now, right?"

"United Nations? That's acceptable. Then it's just you. Let's go. What I need to get is very important and I've hidden it. If Sadler finds it, we'll be in big trouble," Luis shrugged.

"Sadler? First, tell us about him. That way, it'll be easier to deal with him when we encounter him," Chris said.

"Alright, then I'll give you a rundown. You seem more reliable than the agents on the Iberian Peninsula." Luis was a bit flippant, looking very unreliable.

Three hours later, BSAA's three teams had successfully stormed into the castle. There, they engaged in battle with a large number of Plaga parasite cultists, and even encountered an incredible merchant!

Chris looked at the masked man with a package on his back and said, "Are you serious?"

"Welcome, my friend. I have all the bullets you could ever want, and weapons too," the Masked Merchant whispered.

Luis looked at the merchant, seeming to understand something. This guy was interesting. "He can be trusted. He often buys and sells weapons here. You can find him if you need anything."

Chris saw that his team was low on ammo, so he prepared to buy some. "What do we use to pay?"

"Ancient gold coins from the Iberian Peninsula. Give them to me, and I can give you anything. There are many treasures in the castle. If you find valuable gems, you can also sell them to me, and I'll exchange them for ammo," the Black market merchant said in a deep voice.

Chris, Sheva, and Josh, the Dark skinned man, discussed it and quickly made a decision.
