Chapter 6 - You wouldn't need to babysit me

Done eating, Sebastian took his bag and left while Dylan followed him. They both settled into his Mercedes-Benz, with Sebastian in the driver's seat and Dylan in the passenger seat beside him.

Sebastian put the car key in, igniting the engine, but before he moved, he turned to Dylan. "Hey," he started, calling Dylan's attention.

Dylan looked at him. His face had turned serious, not that it had always been different, but he could feel it in the air that this was different.

"What?" Dylan questioned.

"Please, at my office, can you behave yourself?"

As he heard this, Dylan burst out laughing, water almost coming out of his eyes as he responded, "Oh… my God… you, you really think I would go around jumping about in your office, is it?"

"No, I want to believe you are quite more composed than that," Sebastian said, then moved very close to Dylan so that his breath fanned his face. "Rather, I'm concerned about you teasing me in my office and someone walking in on us. I'm all about professionalism, and I wouldn't want that."

"Oh…" Dylan muttered.

"Yes," Sebastian said, and he drove the car away from the mansion and the estate as they went on the road to Sebastian's office.

"So, are we cool?"

"No," Dylan answered.

Sebastian turned to look at him, his brows raised in confusion.

"Well, I can't do you such a huge favor without getting something in return."

"You do know that this is the bare minimum, right? I'm not supposed to be asking you to behave, but—" Sebastian started, but Dylan cut him off as he raised his hand toward his mouth.

"You should've explained to your dad that you were getting turned on by my advances, so you were afraid I wouldn't behave, as I might pounce on you at your workplace. That way, you wouldn't need to babysit me."

As Dylan said this, there was silence in the car. Sebastian didn't utter a word, neither did Dylan. Sebastian just kept driving while Dylan plugged an earbud into his ear and listened to music.

He had drifted off to sleep when he felt someone tapping him. His eyes opened. It was Sebastian, and they were now parked.

"Are we here?" he asked, looking around. His eyes caught a tall building with the name "... Law Firm."

He looked back at Sebastian. "Wow… you're a lawyer."

"Yes," Sebastian said, setting up things before stepping out of the car, and Dylan followed suit.

They both walked to the entrance, with Dylan catching up to him. As he did, he quickly whispered, "If you agree to owe me a request, I'll accept your request."

With a straight face, Sebastian said, "I know how mischievous you can be with me."

He sighed before adding, "but I think I can still tolerate it outside my workplace, so I'm in. Behave."

"Sure, count me in!" Dylan said, ecstatic.

They both entered the building, and the lift carried them to the third floor, where Sebastian walked ahead toward an open office. There were several other people there, and Sebastian stopped to greet them.

The head plate of the place read [Criminal/Civil Litigation Department]

"Good morning, Mr. Sebastian," one of the lawyers under the civil/criminal litigation department greeted the head.

"Hi, Olivia." Sebastian greeted him back.

And to everyone, he said, "Good morning, everyone."

Others greeted him as well, after which Olivia came toward Sebastian and asked, "And who's this?"

"A friend," Dylan was quick to respond.

Olivia looked from Sebastian to him, her eyes carefully analyzing him.

He stretched his hand forward to take hers. "I'm Dylan Kang."

As this happened, Dylan made sure to carefully observe her. The way her facial expression shifted slightly into contempt though she tried to keep it neutral, didn't go unnoticed.

Another guy stepped forward. "Mr. Sebastian, there is a case waiting for you on your table. We have tried our best to get the client to talk, to no avail, and we have quite the workload, so we are thinking of dropping the case if you agree."

The person who spoke was Adrian Cole, one Sebastian had greeted earlier before Olivia.

Dylan looked at Adrian and couldn't help but let his gaze linger on him a little longer.

His slightly chocolate skin stood out, paired with his curly hair. He was also cute, with a touch of masculine vibe.

"Alright, I'll check it out."

With that, Sebastian walked away and entered his office, but Dylan didn't follow immediately. Instead, he stretched his hand toward Adrian.

"I'm Dylan, as you might've heard."

"Nice to meet you, Dylan."

"Will I be seeing you around?" Adrian asked, a bit nervous, as it took him quite the courage to do so.

When he saw the guy beside his boss, he had been captivated by his coolness and the somewhat profound difference between him and Sebastian that made him wonder who he was to associate with someone so strict and call him a friend.

"I'm not sure about that yet. But how about we exchange contacts? If we want to talk, we can. I recently got to America, so I don't really have friends for now and wouldn't mind if you could show me around sometime."

"Oh… absolutely, I don't mind that," Adrian said, stretching his phone forward as they exchanged contacts.

Afterwards, Dylan left to enter Sebastian's office.

Sebastian was already settled into his chair, sorting through the files on his table. He raised his head to look at Dylan, who took his time before entering.

"You sure took your time getting yourself familiar with my colleagues," he said, his eyes still on the files.

"I just thought Adrian would make a good friend, especially since he was looking at me but didn't have the guts."

"He was looking at you?" Sebastian asked, his eyes still not lifting to meet Dylan.

"Somehow…" Dylan said, then plugged his ears as he settled on a chair.

"What do you mean?" Sebastian asked, but got no response.

This finally made him raise his head from the files. Dylan was now resting his head against the armrest of the sofa.

"So, he is truly serious about behaving himself, but I didn't say we couldn't talk," Sebastian muttered to himself as he focused back on his work.
