"It's just birds, she should calm down. At least it's not his fault." Tessa repeated those words to herself over and over until the irritation slowly faded from her chest.
"Are you mad?" Zephyr asked, tilting his head as he studied her expression carefully.
Tessa immediately forced her face into a blank one.
"Just leave it and help me stockpile everything. At least that'll make things easier," she muttered.
Zephyr followed her gaze toward the farm. The people inside were still busy harvesting crops, moving around with baskets and barrels while the afternoon breeze swept across the fields. A grin spread across his face instantly.
That looked ridiculously easy.
Without hesitation, he walked into the field and crouched beside the rows of corn. He carefully began extracting them one after another, moving far too gently while dramatically arching his waist like a heavily pregnant woman.
Tessa stared at him for a second before narrowing her eyes.
