A few minutes later, "What's going on?" Michael growled, his deep voice carrying an edge that sent a chill through the room.
Silas took off his stethoscope with an exasperated sigh and powered down the diagnostic machinery. "Aside from her superficial scrapes, everything is completely normal." So why on earth is she still unconscious?
Relief washed over Michael, but confusion quickly replaced it. "If she's completely fine, why hasn't she opened her eyes? Is she just sleeping?" He stared down at the small woman resting peacefully on the bed.
Glancing over the preliminary medical chart once more, Silas shrugged slightly. "There's no serious internal trauma. Don't panic; we'll just keep her under observation."
Michael finally released her hand and turned to face Alen and George. "How could an accident like this happen in broad daylight?"
