When we arrived at the hospital, I was honestly shocked by what I saw. There, in a private hospital room, sat Pinky. She was propped up on a chair, but the girl I knew was gone.
Her face was swollen and unrecognizable with bruises, one eye completely sealed shut. Her bottom lip was split and puffy, and a thin trail of drool escaped the corner of her mouth, dripping onto her hospital gown. She just sat there, staring blankly at the wall, completely spaced out.
"Pinky? Are you ok?" I asked, waving my hand in front of her face. She didn't even flinch.
"Great, she's become an invalid," Darius rolled his eyes. Shit, now I feel bad for being happy she was here.
"Can you not," Ethan snapped at him.
I turned to the doctor who was standing by with a clipboard. "How's she doing?"
"We can only disclose that to—" he started, but Darius cut him off.
"Just tell her," Darius interrupted, his eyes glowing a faint red for a split second.
