Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem!

"I choose the three Ancient Gear Golems in my hand as Fusion Material! Fusion Summon!"

Crowler triumphantly revealed the three boss monsters he had used in his duel against Jaden.

Rumble!

With a thunderous roar, three towering, rusted mechanical giants appeared on the field. Under the swirling yellow, blue, and green vortex of Polymerization, they transformed into beams of light.

In their place emerged a massive mechanical centaur-like beast. It had a four-legged chassis of rusted iron, topped by the torso of a gear-driven titan. It let out a metallic, grinding roar.

"Fusion Summon! Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem!"

[Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem]

[Level: 10]

[Attribute: Earth]

[ATK: 4400 / DEF: 3400]

"Ultimate... Ancient Gear Golem! A monster with 4400 attack points!" Jaden, Syrus, and Bastion all gasped in unison. They stared at the towering mechanical monstrosity in sheer awe.

Even Zane Truesdale the Academy's "Kaiser" widened his eyes in the distance.

"A monster summoned by using three Ancient Gear Golems as material? A monster of that caliber?"

"It's just an entrance exam. Crowler actually brought out a legendary trump card like that?" Alexis Rhodes asked, stunned. That was a rare card Crowler almost never used, even in his own professional duels.

"This is it for examinee 111," Alexis said, looking at Jiang He with a hint of pity. Professor Crowler had clearly marked him. He was facing 100% of the professor's strength.

"Yeah. In this situation, even Jaden Yuki wouldn't have a chance," Zane agreed.

Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem prevented the opponent from activating Spells or Traps when it attacked. Furthermore, it dealt piercing battle damage to defense-position monsters. With 4400 ATK and those restrictions, Jiang He was effectively locked out of any defense.

He couldn't even hide behind a high-DEF monster to buy time. Even Jaden's Skyscraper combo wouldn't be enough to bridge a 2300-point gap.

"Since I took the first turn, I cannot attack yet. You should be grateful for the extra turn, Jiang He boy!" Crowler chuckled. He took one of his remaining two cards and set it face-down.

"I set one card and end my turn!"

"He even set a Trap for caution? Crowler isn't going easy on him at all," Syrus lamented.

"I think I understand why Candidate 111 gave up the first turn now!" a student in an Obelisk Blue uniform laughed from the stands. "He knew he was no match for the Professor, so he thought this would let him survive for one more turn!"

"Hahaha!" The students around him joined in the laughter.

Jaden and Bastion frowned but couldn't find a way to argue. They could only watch the field with heavy expressions, wondering how Jiang He would react.
