The air in the Onyx Caverns didn't just grow cold; it became sanctified.
From the narrow entrance of the cave, a blinding, artificial light began to pour in. It wasn't the gentle warmth of the sun, but the harsh, judgmental glare of Holy Mana. Twelve silhouettes stood framed against the light, their heavy plate armor engraved with the soaring phoenix of the Imperial Inquisition.
"In the name of the Eternal Sun," the leader's voice boomed, amplified by a silver visor. "We have tracked the anomaly. The cursed spawn of Luxmore and the carcass of the Great Spider. Step forward, monster, and receive your purification."
Arain, still leaning against the massive, twitching leg of the Night-Stalker Queen, didn't move. He looked small—pathetic, even—in his torn tunic, his face smeared with the Queen's dark ichor. But his eyes... his eyes were two pools of stagnant shadow that refused to reflect their holy light.

"Monster?" Arain whispered, his voice small but carrying through the cavern like a death knell. "You walk into the belly of the earth, uninvited, and call the master of the house a monster?"
The Paladins didn't hesitate. To them, there was no dialogue with 'Cursed Entities'.
"Formation Alpha! Purge the darkness!"
Six Paladins stepped forward, their shields glowing with a golden film. They moved in perfect synchronization, creating a 'Wall of Light' that began to incinerate the Abyssal mist Arain had spent hours cultivating.
Arain felt the sting. It felt like needles of fire pricking his skin. At Level 15, a direct hit from a Level 50 Paladin would turn his physical body to ash in seconds.
But Arain wasn't playing by their rules.
"System," Arain commanded, his hand tightening around the Queen's Heart—the pulsing, black relic he had just harvested. "Initiate the Third Phase: The Heart of a Hero."
[Warning: Ritual Incomplete. Requires the sacrifice of a High-Tier Light Soul.]

"I know," Arain's lips curled into a jagged smile. "I'm just inviting the guests to the altar."
He didn't run. He threw the Queen's Heart into the air.
As the black gem reached its peak, Arain snapped his fingers.
"Abyss Sovereign Art: Void Singularity."
Instead of falling, the Heart stayed suspended. The shadows of the twelve Paladins—the very shadows cast by their own Holy Light—suddenly snapped toward the center of the room. It was as if the gravity of the world had shifted.
The Paladins screamed as their feet were yanked from under them. Their 'Wall of Light' shattered. They weren't being pulled by wind; they were being pulled by their own weight.
"What is this magic?!" the Captain roared, stabbing his claymore into the rock to anchor himself. "Shields up! Maintain the—"
He stopped.
Arain was no longer by the spider's corpse. He was floating in the center of the black vortex, his small hand reaching out to touch the floating Heart.
"You talk about purification," Arain said, his voice now layered with the echoes of a thousand screams. "But your light is built on the bones of the 'Trash' you discard. Today, the Trash collects its debt."
Arain drove his fist into the Queen's Heart.
CRACK.
The relic exploded, but not outward. It imploded, sucking all the light, all the sound, and all the hope out of the cavern. In that moment of absolute vacuum, Arain reached out and grabbed the shadow-thread connected to the Captain's soul.

"Get back!" the Captain yelled to his men, but it was too late.
The shadows beneath the Paladins turned into liquid obsidian. Chains, etched with runes of pure despair, erupted from the floor, wrapping around their golden armor. The 'Holy Mana' they tried to summon was instantly swallowed, neutralized by the sheer density of the Abyss Arain was channeling.
Arain descended slowly, his feet landing on the Captain's chest, pinning the Level 50 warrior to the ground with a force that defied his 6-year-old stature.
"Tell my father," Arain whispered, leaning down so only the Captain could hear him over the roar of the ritual. "Tell the Duke that the son he threw away didn't die in the forest."
He pressed his palm against the Captain's visor.
"He became the forest."
"Final Phase: CONSUME."
A pillar of violet-black fire erupted from the center of the cavern, shooting through the mountain and piercing the sky. Outside, the birds stopped singing. The trees groaned. And miles away, in the Luxmore Manor, the Duke's 'Solar Compass' shattered into a thousand pieces.

When the smoke cleared, the twelve Paladins were gone. Only twelve empty suits of golden armor remained, rusted and hollow, scattered like discarded toys.
Arain stood in the center of the ruin. He looked taller. His hair, once dark brown, now held a faint, silvery sheen at the tips. He looked at his hands—they were steady. The hunger that had plagued him since his rebirth was finally gone, replaced by a cold, infinite power.
"Level 20," Arain muttered, checking his status. "And the world already wants me dead. How nostalgic."
He turned toward the exit. He didn't need to hide anymore. The Great Hunt had given him exactly what he needed to begin his march back to the capital.
[New Quest: The Fall of the First House.]
[Objective: Return to Luxmore Manor.]
"Let's go home, System," Arain said, his voice echoing in the silence of the dead cavern. "I have a family reunion to attend."
