Chapter 2 - Fall of Earth

A man sat in his office, staring at the sky through the large glass window, lost in deep thought.

Suddenly, the sound of fast footsteps echoed through the hallway.

The office door opened, and a beautiful young woman in army uniform rushed inside, breathing heavily.

"Sir… there's an issue that needs your attention," she said while trying to catch her breath. "Professor Zara asked me to inform you to meet her immediately. She said it is related to the virus."

The man immediately stood up.

"What? Where is she?"

"In her office, studying documents and reports."

Before she could finish, the man rushed out.

A tall man, nearly six feet in height and dressed in a military uniform, ran through the corridor with long and urgent steps. He reached the office and slammed the door open.

"Zara! What happened? Is the virus affecting people in the shelters again?"

Inside the room stood a woman in a black dress, calm and composed, reviewing data on a digital screen. She turned around slowly.

"No, Harry," she said in a serious tone. "But it will… and something even worse is going to happen."

Harry frowned.

"Worse than this?"

Zara took a deep breath and began explaining.

"In 2050, several meteoroids fell across different continents. When scientists began researching them, they were infected by a strange virus. At first, the virus only turned its host into a mindless creature. But by mid-2055, it began spreading rapidly, and infected humans started killing other humans."

Harry remained silent.

Zara continued.

"We built shelters to protect humanity, but most of the population died. After ten years of survival and struggle, in 2060, something even worse is approaching."

Harry clenched his fists.

"Captain," Zara said seriously, "we have faced many threats in the last ten years, but this is the most dangerous one humanity has ever encountered."

Harry looked at her.

"Zara… what is it?"

She turned the screen toward him.

"Three asteroids are moving toward Earth. Based on their speed, they will hit the planet in three days. And I strongly believe they are the same type as the ones that struck Earth in 2050."

Harry froze.

For a moment, he could not move.

His mind went blank as he realized what this meant.

Humanity was about to face extinction.

After a few seconds, he gathered himself and spoke.

"What choices do we have, Zara? Can we stop them? We still have special missiles. We can fire them."

Zara shook her head slowly.

"Sir, we can try, but it will not eliminate the threat. These asteroids are far larger than the previous ones. Our missiles will only slow them down, not destroy them."

Harry closed his eyes.

"But… we can—"

"Don't tell me," Harry interrupted her, "you want me to move humanity to Alpha-1."

Zara remained silent.

"You know we haven't explored that planet completely," Harry continued. "We only know it has oxygen and jungles. We don't know if it's safe or not. There could be unknown threats."

Zara stepped forward.

"Sir, what other option do we have? We either stay here and die… or take the risk and survive."

Her voice became firm.

"This is our only hope. Humanity must leave Earth and move to Alpha-1."

Harry turned toward the window.

The ruined world outside reflected in his eyes.

"I know this is a difficult decision," Zara said softly, "but if we do nothing, humanity will be destroyed. You have to make a tough call."

Harry took a deep breath.

"I understand… but I need some time."

"We don't have time," Zara replied.

After a long silence, Harry spoke.

"Arrange a global press conference."

Zara looked at him.

"I will inform the whole world about the crisis. People must prepare themselves for the journey to Alpha-1. I will issue military orders to store food, medical supplies, and survival equipment for the evacuation."

Zara nodded.

"That's a good decision. I will prepare my research teams and scientific staff."

She turned toward the exit.

"If you need anything, contact me."

"Thank you," Harry said quietly.

As Zara walked out of the room, she whispered under her breath,

"He will never understand… idiot."

Soon after the meeting, Harry announced the crisis through global media.

Panic spread across all shelters.

Some people prayed.

Some believed it was divine punishment.

Others simply cried in fear.

No one knew what would happen next.

After two days of preparation, massive spaceships were ready.

Nearly 600 spacecrafts from different shelters launched into space, carrying the last surviving humans.

They traveled at near-light speed toward Alpha-1.

One year later.

"Zara, we are about to enter Alpha-1's orbit," Harry said while looking at the planet through the observation screen.

Suddenly, red warning lights flashed.

Sirens began to scream.

"What's happening, Zara?"

She rushed toward the control panel.

"There's a system failure! We are losing control! Brace for impact — we are going to land in a forest!"

The spaceship shook violently.

Within minutes, it crash-landed inside a dense jungle.

After landing, Harry and Zara wore oxygen masks and stepped outside.

The air felt fresh.

The environment looked surprisingly similar to Earth.

"It almost looks like Earth," Zara said.

"Yes… it does," Harry replied.

After some time, they removed their masks as the atmosphere proved safe.

Within an hour, soldiers and civilians began building temporary camps.

Humanity had arrived at its new home.

While exploring the forest, Zara found a strange small creature.

"What is this?"

It looked like an insect, but different.

She carefully picked it up and took it to the lab.

Inside the laboratory, she placed it inside a scanning machine.

Her eyes widened.

"This is strange…"

The creature was not emitting thermal radiation.

Its body was cold.

She examined more creatures and discovered the same result.

All of them had cold physiques instead of thermal bodies.

Something was unusual about this planet.

Months passed.

Humans built farms, shelters, and infrastructure.

Slowly, civilization began to grow again.

Everything seemed normal.

Until one day.

A loud scream echoed through the camp.

"Monsters! Monsters are coming!"

Harry rushed outside.

"Calm down! What happened?"

A terrified soldier pointed toward the forest.

"Sir… creatures are coming toward the camp!"

Fear in his eyes confirmed he was not lying.

"Soldiers! Take your positions! Aim at targets!"

Strange and terrifying sounds echoed through the jungle.

Two massive creatures appeared.

"Fire!"

Gunshots filled the air.

Modern weapons that could destroy mountains were fired repeatedly.

But it took multiple rounds just to kill two creatures.

Harry stared at their bodies.

Something felt wrong.

He could sense a strange energy entering his body whenever he stayed on this planet for too long.

This place was not normal.

And the worst was yet to come.

Half a month later…
