Chapter 8 - The Hidden Hunt

Ethan stood on the balcony, the city stretching out before him.

Quiet. Deceptive.

Normal on the surface.

But underneath

Everything had changed.

He had seen enough.

He had understood enough.

Now

It was time to move.

"We don't rush into everything," Ethan said calmly as he turned back inside.

Krishara and Nethan looked at him.

"We grow stronger," he continued. "But we stay hidden."

Krishara nodded slowly.

"That's safer."

Nethan tilted his head.

"So we won't fight big monsters yet?"

Ethan shook his head slightly.

"We will."

A brief pause.

"But not where everyone can see."

That was the difference.

Later that day

Ethan moved alone through the city.

Observing.

Walking through quiet streets, narrow paths, and empty areas, most people ignored.

He wasn't looking for danger. He was looking for an opportunity.

"…Hidden dungeons," he thought.

As he moved, something crossed his mind.

A small detail.

"…The stat points."

After the boss fight.

After reaching Level 16.

He hadn't assigned them.

Ethan stopped walking. Closed his eyes.

Then

He allocated them.

Three into Strength.

Three into Agility.

The change was immediate.

Subtle but precise.

His body felt sharper.

More controlled.

The system responded.

[STATUS WINDOW]

Name: Ethan Jae Park

Level: 16

STR: 21

AGI: 22

VIT: 21

INT: 76

Stat Points: 0

Ethan observed it quietly.

His growth was accelerating.

Faster than it should. Strength and agility are rising.

Vitality increases naturally.

But intelligence

"…Abnormal."

Every increase fed into it.

Every stat. Every level.

His talent was working exactly as intended.

Ethan opened his eyes.

And continued walking.

Minutes passed.

Then

He felt it. A distortion. Subtle. Hidden.

Ethan turned slightly.

A narrow valley sat between two broken structures.

Overgrown. Ignored.

But inside

Space trembled.

"…Found it."

He stepped closer.

The system responded immediately.

[E-RANK DUNGEON DETECTED]

[TYPE: TIME DUNGEON]

[TIME LIMIT: 2 HOURS]

Ethan's eyes narrowed slightly.

Time limit. New mechanic.

He thought for a moment.

"…Not for them."

Krishara and Nethan weren't ready for this yet.

This he would handle alone.

Ethan looked around.

No one. No presence.

He stepped forward.

And entered.

The world shifted instantly.

Dark. Cold.

A ruined stone field stretched before him.

Broken pillars.Cracked ground.

The air felt heavy. Pressured.

Then movement.

Creatures emerged.

Tall. Distorted.

Their bodies twisted, as if space itself had warped them.

Their limbs bent unnaturally.

Their movements… unstable.

"…Spatial distortion monsters," Ethan muttered.

They moved. Fast. Unpredictable.

One lunged. Ethan stepped aside.

Not just dodging

Shifting.

Space bent slightly around him.

His perception expanded.

"…Too slow."

He raised his hand.

"Void Pierce."

Space compressed into a single point.

Then released.

A distorted line tore through the creature.

It didn't bleed. It collapsed.

Disintegrating.

Ethan moved forward.

More came.

But now

He understood them.

Their patterns.Their distortions. Their delays.

Every movement became clearer.

Every attack is predictable.

Minutes passed.

Then more.

Ethan moved without stopping.

Without hesitation. His skill grew.

His control sharpened.

Void Pierce

Faster. Cleaner. Stronger.

The dungeon began to collapse under his control.

Forty-five minutes.

That was all it took.

Then the ground trembled.

The boss appeared.

A massive, distorted entity.

Its body is fractured.

Like broken space held together.

It moved and vanished.

Reappeared behind him.

Fast. Ethan turned.

Barely in time.

"…Teleportation."

He adjusted instantly.

His perception expanded further.

Tracking. Predicting. Reading space itself.

The creature attacked again.

This time

Ethan moved first.

"Void Pierce."

The attack landed. But not enough.

The boss roared.

Space twisted violently.

Ethan stepped forward.

Not reacting, controlling.

For a brief moment

He understood. A deeper layer.

Space wasn't fixed. It could be read.

Manipulated.

"…Now."

He moved.

Perfect timing.

His blade

Enhanced by compressed space

Pierced through its core.

Silence.

The boss collapsed.

The dungeon stilled.

Then

Rewards appeared.

A skill book.

[Skill Acquired: Spatial Shift]

(Type: Space / Escape)

Allows short-range instantaneous teleportation.

Ethan observed it.

"…Useful."

Another reward appeared.

Then

A system message.

[WORLD FIRST CLEAR ACHIEVED]

[E-RANK DUNGEON]

[CLEAR TIME: UNDER 1 HOUR]

Ethan paused slightly.

"…First."

A second skill appeared.

[Skill Acquired: Domain Mark]

(Type: Support )

Allows marking up to 5 individuals.

Marked targets are visible on the user's map at all times.

Immune to interference.

Ethan's eyes sharpened.

"…Good."

Then

A thought formed.

"What if…"

Teleportation. Marking.

"…Combine them."

Ethan closed his eyes briefly.

His mind moved rapidly.

Comprehension. Calculation. Possibility.

Then

The system responded.

A pause. A shift.

[SKILL COMBINATION SUCCESSFUL]

[New Skill Created: Spatial Dominion Link]

(Type: Space / Support / Growth)

Mark up to 3 targets

Instantly teleport marked targets to user

Cooldown: 1 Hour

Ethan exhaled slowly.

"…That works."

A powerful tool.

For protection. For control.

He opened his status.

Level: 24

He didn't assign his stat points.

Not yet.

Instead

He looked around.

The dungeon was collapsing.

Time to leave. Ethan stepped out.

Then

Without hesitation

He moved. Fast.

Gone before anyone could see.

Back home

Krishara looked up immediately.

"Ethan?"

"I'm back," he said calmly.

Nethan ran toward him.

"Did you fight again?"

Ethan nodded slightly.

Then he explained.

The dungeon. The time limit. The new skills.

Krishara listened carefully.

"…So it's getting more dangerous."

"Yes."

Nethan's eyes lit up.

"That means we get stronger too!"

Ethan looked at him.

"…Exactly."

They spoke for a while.

Planning. Thinking.

Their path forward becoming clearer.

Later

Ethan stepped into the back garden.

Alone. The air was still.

He raised his hand.

Space shifted.

"Spatial Shift."

He vanished.And reappeared.

Again. And again.

Then

"Spatial Dominion Link."

The mark formed.

Invisible. Precise. Ethan exhaled slowly.

Control. Precision. Power.

Everything was coming together.

But this

Was only the beginning.
