As for the rest, he didn't delve much deeper. He didn't know the specifics of any other history, nor had he checked the historical records of this world. Still, the very first item available for exchange had given him a significant surprise, which made him quite pleased.
'As expected, expensive things are expensive for a reason.'
He continued scrolling down. The next item wasn't something from his own world, but a power native to this "Starting Life in Another World" universe.
[Divine Protection of the Phoenix]
Price: 1,000,000 Popularity Points
Effect: Allows the user to be resurrected once. After triggering, the protection status refreshes to "Follow-up: Divine Protection of the Phoenix." Triggering it again grants "Follow-up: Follow-up: Divine Protection of the Phoenix," stacking infinitely.
Just a moment ago, Gojo had thought the Power of Harmony was exaggerated. But this Divine Protection of the Phoenix was not one bit inferior.
Resurrection after death—there wasn't much else to say. Everyone has only one life. Even for him, who had mastered the Reverse Cursed Technique and could constantly regenerate as long as his cursed energy wasn't depleted, he was essentially the same. Being able to revive once meant having an extra life; whether facing a powerful enemy or some other crisis, one could handle it with much more composure. It was something no one in any world would refuse.
But the effect of this Divine Protection was even more abnormal! After experiencing one resurrection, the protection merely updated itself. In simpler terms: it was infinite resurrection. You simply couldn't die!
Gojo sat up on the bed as he read the description.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. This is a bit of a foul, isn't it?"
"It doesn't let you die at all. If you run into someone like this, there's literally no way to deal with them except sealing them away."
Gojo muttered to himself, his mind connecting the two Divine Protections he had just seen. If someone possessed both the Power of Harmony and the Divine Protection of the Phoenix, they would be truly invincible in every sense of the word. Even sealing would be impossible, as the Power of Harmony would eventually adapt to and grant immunity to the sealing energy.
Previously, as broken as the Power of Harmony seemed, there was a workaround: kill the user with an attack exceeding their capacity before they could adapt. But against the Divine Protection of the Phoenix, that solution was a joke.
"Tsk. I see how it is. This shop is pure bait."
"It uses these things to entice people to earn more popularity points just to trade for them."
Gojo continued to scroll. There were plenty of other "goodies" like this: magic that could teleport targets to different dimensions, magic to change the weather, soul transference, resurrecting the dead, summoning meteors, and so on.
There were also "Rule-based" Divine Protections. For example, an unfair combo where long-range attacks from the enemy can never hit you, while your own long-range attacks are guaranteed to hit.
Even Gojo had to admit that the power system of this world was clearly stronger than his own, with a higher ceiling for absurdity. There were just too many strange variables. It was hard to imagine how terrifying it would be if all these synergistic protections appeared on a single person.
In comparison, his own world seemed a bit lacking. In this top-tier exchange list, there wasn't much related to Jujutsu besides the Ten Shadows Technique (priced at 500,000). Interestingly, even "Heavenly Restriction"—a congenital defect—was available.
Unlike the unchangeable, innate Heavenly Restrictions, the ones in the shop allowed the user to choose the direction of their sacrifice to strengthen other abilities. As long as you had enough points, a binding vow originally forced upon you at birth could be used to optimize yourself. The only thing to consider was balancing the pros and cons.
"Quite a miraculous shop. If not for this, I wouldn't have known so many amazing protections and magics existed."
"In the future, if I go to other worlds, once the anime starts airing, I can use this shop to gauge exactly where that world's power system stands."
Gojo yawned, gaining a deeper understanding of the Supporting Character System. He stopped browsing. The cheap stuff didn't interest him; the expensive stuff he couldn't afford. Besides, he was still confident in his own strength. Even with all the chaotic powers in this world...
He was Gojo Satoru, after all. Even without the shop's help, he was the strongest!
Gojo had a comfortable sleep in the Knight's Bastion. The environment was even better than the inn he'd stayed in the night before. The only flaw was the morning; once the knights arrived, they gathered in the nearby courtyard for drills and meetings. The noise made it impossible to sleep in.
Gojo finally rolled out of bed when the sun was high in the sky. This was the pace of life he had loved back at Jujutsu High. Due to his strength, academic requirements were essentially irrelevant to him. When there were no missions, he loved wandering around with Geto Suguru. Even though Utahime always looked at him with disdain for it, he never grew tired of it.
"Yo. You look like you didn't sleep well."
Gojo emerged from his room after a quick wash to find Felt coming out with dark circles under her eyes. She gave him a flat look, showing none of her usual liveliness.
"You can actually sleep when you've offended someone who might become King?"
"Who knows? Anyway, if anyone gets in trouble, it'll be you, right?"
"Actually, I'm more like her benefactor. If it weren't for me, you probably would have run off long ago..."
Hearing Gojo bring up the sore spot again, Felt fumed.
"Is that so? You're on my side now. You think they'll just let you off?"
Gojo looked at Felt with mock pity. "I'm not afraid. Worst case, I just run. It's not like many people can actually catch me, right?"
Thinking back to Gojo's previous performance, Felt fell silent.
