Chapter 31 - The Trap Is Set”

Luca & Victoria's Plan

The room was dimly lit.

Victoria stood by the window, her reflection cold, her eyes no longer soft—but sharp, calculating. The humiliation she once felt had transformed into something darker.

Luca leaned casually against the desk, watching her.

"You've changed," he said with a smirk.

Victoria didn't turn.

"No… I've evolved."

Luca chuckled. "Good. Because what I'm about to suggest… requires that version of you."

She finally faced him. "Tell me."

His voice dropped.

"We don't attack Alexander."

A pause.

"We attack Isabella."

Victoria's lips slowly curved into a dangerous smile.

💼 One Week Later

After a week of rest, Isabella returned to work.

She still felt… off.

Tired. Weak. A little dizzy at times.

Alexander noticed immediately.

"You should stay home longer," he said, concern evident in his voice.

"I'm fine," she insisted with a soft smile. "I just need to get back to normal."

But something didn't sit right with him.

🌆 After Work

The sun was setting when Alexander walked her out.

"I'll take you home," he said firmly.

Isabella shook her head.

"I need to stop by the bookstore. Lucian will take me."

Alexander's expression hardened slightly.

"Hey… you're my fiancée now. I should be the one taking you home."

She stepped closer, her tone soft but stubborn.

"Babe… I trust Lucian. Please, just let him take me."

Alexander's instincts screamed.

Something isn't right.

But he knew her.

Push too hard… and she'd pull away.

"…Okay," he said finally, though his voice lacked conviction.

His jaw tightened as if he regretted it immediately.

"Be careful. Call me. Text me. Anything."

She smiled, leaning up to kiss him.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

But as she pulled away and walked toward the car…

Alexander felt something he couldn't explain.

Like he was letting her walk into danger.

🚗 The Ride

Isabella got into the car.

Lucian was already there, calm as always.

"Bookstore?" he asked.

"Yes," she replied softly.

The car pulled away.

Silence filled the space.

Isabella leaned her head back slightly, closing her eyes.

"I feel… so tired," she murmured.

Lucian glanced at her briefly.

A flicker of something unreadable passed through his eyes.

"You should rest," he said.

But his grip on the steering wheel tightened.

Because Lucian wasn't just a driver.

He was a secret agent working for Luca.

And tonight…

Everything had already been set in motion.

🕳️ Elsewhere…

Victoria stood beside Luca, watching a phone screen.

A live location.

Isabella's location.

"She trusted the wrong people," Victoria said coldly.

Luca smirked.

"No… she trusted the right people."

He tapped the screen.

"They just belong to me."

⚠️ Final Moment

Inside the car…

Isabella's vision blurred.

"Lucian… this isn't the way to the bookstore…"

Her voice weakened.

The car didn't stop.

Didn't turn.

Didn't slow down.

Lucian's voice came out calm.

"Relax… we're almost there."

Her eyes widened slightly as fear began to creep in.

"Where… are we going…?"

Lucian didn't answer.

🔥 Cliffhanger

Far away, Alexander stared at his phone.

No message.

No call.

His chest tightened.

Something was wrong.

And this time…

His instincts weren't just warning him.

They were screaming.
