Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 : System Option (Rewrite)

Author's Note:Not being satisfied with what I had written so far, and since there were still only a few chapters, I decided to rewrite them. I also changed the point of view to first person, finding it better suited to this type of fanfiction than the third-person perspective I usually use with more complex characters that require an overall view of the universe.

Thus, this fanfiction will be written from a first-person POV, which is better suited for more adult scenes and allows the reader to more easily put themselves in the main character's place

In the silent vastness of space, where life seemed absent, a single presence broke the void: a figure cutting through the darkness at a dizzying speed. That figure… was me. Krom.

I was incredibly lucky to see the system precisely indicate the direction of Earth. This clear and reliable guidance was invaluable. Thanks to it, I could move forward and survive.

Fortunately for me, the planet was only two hours away by flight. My Viltrumite abilities — exceptional durability, overdeveloped lungs, and the power of flight — allowed me not only to move through the vacuum of space but also to hold my breath for several weeks. Despite the hostile environment, this journey was perfectly feasible.

By the third day of travel, the system's compass finally reached its destination. The blue planet rose before me, majestic and silent.I remained still for a few seconds, arms crossed, studying the world I was about to set foot on.

— "So… this is Dragon Ball's Earth."My voice was calm, almost detached.

Compared to everything I had glimpsed through Thragg's memories, this planet seemed almost insignificant. Too peaceful. Too… ordinary.

But I wasn't fooled. In this universe, appearances were always deceptive. This was where the real monsters were hiding.

A faint smile stretched across my lips. Without hesitation, I began my descent.

My body sliced through the atmosphere without slowing. The friction of the blazing air licked my skin, but I paid it no mind. No burn, no discomfort. Nothing.

Then I tore through the sky. The clouds burst around me, swept aside by the pressure of my passage. My speed gradually decreased as I neared the ground, but every movement remained fluid.

My gaze swept the horizon: mountains, forests… no major cities nearby.

I landed silently, without leaving a single visible mark on the ground. The first thing I did was take a deep breath, letting my lungs fill with the fresh air. Holding my breath for days had been a strange sensation for someone who was once human.

As a Viltrumite, I possessed exceptional adaptability: my lungs could absorb almost any gas and process it exactly like oxygen. This ability gave me total freedom, even in the harshest environments, allowing me to breathe and survive where an ordinary human would have immediately perished.

Oxygen and Azote were just a formality: some environments were still more pleasant than others. The air I was breathing here had exceptional purity, completely free of the slightest trace of pollution. This rare quality offered an astonishingly pleasant sensation, each breath becoming more soothing and satisfying than in most atmospheres I had encountered before.

I rose slightly above the ground, floating in the air, lost in thought as I considered my future.

First of all, I needed to find clothes — I wasn't going to stay naked forever.

Next, I had to determine the time period I was in within the Dragon Ball universe. The future would vary considerably depending on whether I was before the start of Dragon Ball, or right in the middle of a major arc like the Cell Games or the Buu saga. This information was crucial, not only to anticipate events but also to identify opportunities to seize.

Another essential step for surviving in this world would be mastering ki. I had already considered several approaches, but I hadn't yet chosen which one to implement. Even with Thragg's potential, the pinnacle of Viltrumite genetics, it was still insufficient in this universe. Here, people could destroy planets effortlessly and move at speeds exceeding the speed of light. True, my physical advantage was considerable… but it wouldn't be enough to reach the top and rival the most powerful beings.

And finally, I had to make full use of the capabilities offered by my system. This tool represented a considerable asset, and I was determined to exploit its full potential.

As I lifted my eyes to the sky, I opened the system interface. I hadn't had time to test its functions yet: I had been too busy asking questions and exploring my new Viltrumite abilities.

Before me, several icons appeared. Each reminded me of what the system guide had described: its functions, its limits, and, above all, the possibilities it opened. Each option seemed to promise a power or advantage that could make all the difference in this ruthless world.

[Status: displays the different powers possessed by the host, obtained with the system's help or by other means]

[Quest: displays current quests as well as available quests and their rewards]

[Lottery: a lottery allowing the acquisition of items, abilities, techniques, and special talents randomly. There are different types of draws, each with varying chances of obtaining rare rewards]

[Inventory: a dimensional space where system-issued items can be stored]

The first icon he clicked on was the quest icon. The reason was simple: during his journey, he had received a tutorial quest. He wanted to discover the rewards, as they had remained hidden until completion.

[QUEST]The Beginning of the Journey :  The very first stage of your journey is to reach planet Earth safely within the allotted time. To complete this quest, you have three hours. The reward will be determined based on your current needs within the limits of the quest rank (2h/3h)Rank : EReward : Thragg's Grand Regent Outfit / a tailor-made combat and ceremonial outfit, custom-fitted to your body, made from a unique material composed of intelligent atoms capable of self-repair over time as long as it is not completely destroyed + 100 Lewd PointsStatus : Completed

I observed the outfit floating before me, ready to be worn. For a moment, the thought of trying it on immediately crossed my mind… before I dismissed it instantly. First, I had to remove the stellar dust clinging to my body; that seemed far more important. I then stored the outfit, still suspended in the air, and rose to find a place to wash.

Soon, I discovered a nearby river and plunged in with a single motion. The icy water ran over every muscle, carrying away the space dust. I opened my eyes and studied my reflection, features relaxed yet alert.

This body… was a colossus compared to my previous one. I must have easily exceeded two meters, with massive, perfect, threatening musculature, each muscle seemingly sculpted with surgical precision. My angular face, marked by hardness and authority, was framed by short hair and a flawless hairline. The Viltrumite mustache accentuated my stern expression, giving an overall impression of raw, undeniable power.

Piercing black eyes gleamed with a cold intensity, capable of intimidating anyone who met their gaze. Even standing still, the mere presence commanded respect and fear.

Between my legs, I bore a three-piece attribute, immense, disproportionate even for my size, far above average in both length and girth. I was surprised… even by Viltrumite genetics.

This body… so perfect, so powerful. Every contour, every fiber betrayed Viltrumite genetics at its peak. Until now, I had never taken the time to examine myself like this. In reality, this body was everything I could have dreamed of.

Clean, I emerged from the water, then rose into the air and accelerated sharply, letting the wind dry my body in moments. I cast one last glance at the river before focusing.

Calmly, I summoned my outfit once again and put it on. Every fiber fit my body perfectly, as if it had been designed for me.

The red suit molded my musculature with precision, adorned with the Viltrumite emblem on the chest. A wide cape fell from my back, its gray fur collar resting majestically on my shoulders. Around my waist, a royal robe added an imposing dimension, while fitted pants, similar to the suit but in silver-gray, completed the ensemble. Metal bracelets encircled my wrists, accentuating the impression of authority and power.

The whole ensemble radiated a cold, royal, undeniable aura.

— "Perfect," I murmured, finally ready.
