Chapter 16 - This greenskin finks he's human!

Logan Grimnar, the Chapter Master of the Space Wolves, was watching the frenzied orks from a distance.

They had emerged from the jungle at some point and were slaughtering mutants and Chaos cultists in organized units.

These greenskins in strange underwear were wild, they followed a massive humanoid greenskin in a mad Waaagh!

Hundreds of thousands of cultists were no match for these greenskins.

The massive greenskin leading them could even resist the corruption of Evil Sorcerers, killing their sorcerers with two punches under a Psychic Storm.

The Death Korps of Krieg, who had come to reinforce, were deployed on this defensive line. Since these greenskins were very close to them, a conflict broke out.

The Death Korps of Krieg attempted to block these greenskins with their fearless advancing strategy...

However, their fearless charge didn't make the greenskins retreat; instead, the greenskins chose that path and fought with increasing courage.

"Boring, fighting these humans is boring!"

"We need to find the red demons, that's where the real fun is!"

The greenskins sitting around Hulk looked at their boss in surprise; this bloody battle failed to pique his interest.

"Hmm, someone's coming!"

Hulk, whose aura had been fading and who was shrinking, suddenly found an opponent.

He looked at the distant hillside where a pack of wolves suddenly charged out. They held Power Swords, and rode giant wolves brought from Fenris, forming a rapid-advance cavalry unit.

In an instant, the greenskins' flank was hit, and Logan, the current Chapter Master of the Space Wolves, led the charge as the vanguard.

Stepping over the corpses of the greenskins in front, they charged into the ork camp with the extreme speed of the wolf pack.

Surrounded by ork Boys, Logan shouted directly at them.

"Tell your boss to come out!"

"I am Logan, the strongest human here!"

"If he has the guts, let him come out for a duel, if not, get the hell back to the forest!"

The Wolf Lord let out a roar, and the Space Wolf Bladeguard Veterans beside him watched the surrounding Gretchin and ork Boys warily.

The current Wolf Lord's Artificer Power Armor could withstand shots from these unreliable weapons, but they still had to be careful in case these xenos launched a sneak attack.

Under the pressure of terrifying power, these weak ork Boys were actually feeling a bit timid.

They even began to compare the strength of the warrior before them with their own boss.

It felt like both sides were evenly matched; either way, both could hammer them into the ground.

"The strongest human?"

Soon, a narrow path opened up on both sides of the army.

Hulk, wearing his underwear, walked out from the crowd of greenskins.

His body expanded slightly, those sturdy muscles were even larger than the strongest warrior among the Space Marines.

There were no scars on his body, no marks left by battle.

His skin was almost like new, with every cell in his body renewing itself every second.

"What a strange Warboss, he actually has hair!"

"He doesn't feel like an ork; he's more like some kind of mutant!"

The Space Wolves nearby felt the same way. They had just been purging mutants in the vicinity, so it was clear to them that Hulk's appearance really resembled those mutants.

Some Wolf Pups even suspected that this was just a very powerful mutant who had blended into the greenskins.

It just happened that his skin was also green, and since he was a good fighter, these greenskins recognized him as their boss.

"A mutant becoming a greenskin boss?"

"That is surprising, but that's all it is!"

"Is that so?"

The Incredible Hulk before them gritted his teeth, those neatly arranged human teeth seemed to convince all the Space Wolves that this was indeed a mutant human.

Instead of feeling cautious, they felt a sense of contempt.

They had killed too many mutants; they had just cleared out a large batch.

Logan jumped off his giant wolf, preparing for a duel.

However, to his surprise, the green giant in front of him simply stomped his foot and took flight, raising both fists to smash down at him rapidly.

"Holy shit!"

Logan had never seen an ork act like a humanoid jump pack.

Even though the opponent had no jump pack on his back, the height he jumped was no different from an Astartes wearing one.

The Wolf Lord found the right moment and quickly dodged to the right, while the opponent's fists smashed heavily into the ground where he had been.

A large amount of rock splattered out, and even just the flying rocks scratched his exposed cheek.

The hard ground was actually smashed into a crater by this green barbarian, this probably wasn't an ordinary mutant; it was likely a product of some experiment from the Dark Age of Technology.

Taking advantage of being airborne, Logan fired a bolter round at the green giant.

The large-caliber bolter accurately hit the opponent's head, the scent of blood and the sound of rending flesh reached the ears of every Wolf Pup.

"Is it just brute strength?"

"That's all it is!"

Logan thought the battle was over, the tissue loss in the opponent's neck area was too severe; it was impossible to recover.

He had fought many mutant greenskins; a strike like this would basically leave them dead as can be.

"Hahaha, that's only gonna make Hulk angry!"

Caleb marveled at the agility of this Space Wolf, but clearly, this guy was being a bit too overconfident.

Although he had been commanding these greenskins to attack in the direction of the demons.

Since these Space Wolves happened to be blocking the path of attack, there was no choice.

Thus, just as everyone thought the battle was over, and Logan was even preparing to raise his arm to declare victory.

Hulk, like an unstoppable truck, charged directly into him.

The visible wounds healed instantly, and his size even became larger than before.

"Waaagh!"

All the spectating orks immediately let out a roar, they had never seen such an intense battle.

A boss who had a large chunk of his head blown off could recover in an instant.

This was something these boys had never even considered before.

"I reckon no one can hurt our boss!"

"Our boss is awesome; the Stupid Squishies' weapons can't hurt him at all!"

Under the influence of the Ork Waaagh! energy, the Hulk, whose defense was already god-tier, became even more ridiculous.

His size had ballooned to that of a small dreadnought, his fists, as large as power hammers, smashed down fiercely at the Space Wolf who had challenged him.

Clang!

With just one hit, Logan felt his arm lose strength.

Even though he had used a very clever technique to deflect the force, the opponent's infinite power almost dislocated his arm.

Dodging to the side, Logan's hands were trembling; he had never encountered such a thing in his past battles.

His strength was severely lagging behind the opponent's, and in terms of defense, this guy seemed able to block bolters.

As he rolled forward, the Wolf Lord Logan fired three bolter rounds.

These three bullets exploded on the opponent like fireworks.

Previously, just one shot had almost severed the opponent's neck...

But now, the three-round burst hitting his body only tore away a small portion of flesh on his chest.

And such a small wound was immediately filled by the opponent's terrifying recovery ability.

It was as if his bolter rounds were fired for nothing; they had no effect at all.

"What the hell is this monster!"

Even the Chapter Master of the Space Wolves felt this monster was too ridiculous, let alone the ork boys who hadn't seen much of the world.

For a moment, the Gretchin and ork boys nearby started dancing with joy.

They miraculously maintained battlefield etiquette, not taking the opportunity to use cunning tactics to attack the Wolf Cavalry.

It seemed both sides had a tacit understanding, wanting to wait until both bosses finished their fight.

This understanding lasted for over half an hour.

By now, the Wolf Pups, seeing their Chapter Master in a bitter struggle, couldn't hold back anymore.

Another clatter!

Hulk's fist landed accurately on the opponent's power pauldron!

Although Logan used a very sophisticated deflection technique, he was still sent flying.

His whole body took flight like a puppet with broken strings, then smashed heavily onto the ground, unable to move.

"Oh no, quick! Use Melta Grenades!"

Anyone could see that their Chapter Master was nearing exhaustion.

In desperation, several guards beside Logan threw multiple Melta Grenades.

These high-powered melta bombs could even blast through the armor of a knight mech.

Yet now, they could only be used to cover their Chapter Master's retreat.

There was no choice; the Chapter Master had just used three Armor-piercing Grenades, and the result? He still hadn't killed the opponent.

Instead, everyone witnessed the terrifying recovery ability of this green brute.

Because the Hulk had regrown his arms and legs right in front of everyone.

The stretcher-bearer veterans rushed to carry their Chapter Master back. Strangely, the green giant in front of them didn't pursue them at this moment.

"Damn it, how humiliating!"

Logan was demoralized by Hulk's punch. He really couldn't understand why this suspected mutant could beat them, the Astartes.

Weren't they the "finest" genetically modified warriors designed by the Emperor?

How could they lose to this suspected mutant?

"That's it?"

"You call yourself the strongest human here? You're not even worth one of my hairs!"

"With that combat power, you'd better get the hell back and practice!"

"Be like Stark, learn from your mistakes!"

"Boys, let's go play with the red daemons!"

"Our target isn't them; we have bigger and more Waaagh! battles!"

For a moment, the green tide that had taken the wrong direction surged toward the Gate of the Red Angel.

Logan, carried away on the stretcher, was nearly fuming with rage at this green mutant.

"Put me down, I can still fight!"

"I am a son of Leman Russ; I cannot accept such defeat!"

Everyone carried the Wolf Lord Logan into the hive city. The Apothecary quickly provided the highest level of medical care, attempting to heal his shattered bones and necrotic nerves.

At this time, the retreated Wolf Pups were completely demoralized; the Space Wolves felt this battle was truly shameful.

Although it was just the two bosses dueling, no one could deny that their Chapter Master had been beaten nearly to death by that green giant.

If even their Chapter Master couldn't win, then no one else could.

Even the champions picked from other companies were the same, which meant that in the entire Space Wolves, they couldn't find a single opponent who could stand against that mutant.

In the luxurious banquet in the upper levels of the hive city, the local Planetary Governor had originally wanted to personally welcome the triumphant Space Wolves.

However, this request was rejected, because the Space Wolves didn't want others to know they had just experienced such a humiliating battle.

A mutant had blended into a bunch of greenskins, beaten them all up, and become the boss.

Then this mutant, had even beaten their Chapter Master into a state of self-doubt.

The Apothecary was still treating their Chapter Master, who had multiple comminuted fractures; just the self-healing time alone would likely be very long.

"Damn, this is unscientific. How much power did that brute use?"

"The techniques I used could even withstand consecutive hits from a dreadnought's power fist, yet I couldn't even take one of that guy's punches!"

Logan wailed while gritting his teeth, reviewing the previous battle.

He felt his combat techniques were flawless, but that green giant seemed to have endless brute force, simply overwhelming everything with sheer power and leaving him stunned.

He only felt the opponent's power was unscientific; why could a mutant human have such strong arm strength?

A slight swing of the opponent's fist required his full effort, and a slight jab almost made his frame fall apart.

One must know that the second modification surgery for an Astartes is the Ossmodula.

This greatly increases bone density while improving one's impact resistance.

In past battles, Astartes had been invincible with the powerful bodies provided by this organ.

At the very least, they could go toe-to-toe with enemies of the same level without any problem.

However, the mutant they encountered today broke this common knowledge.

That bone hardness and muscle density were even more insane than theirs; even when beaten half-dead, he could still recover.

Then, with two punches, he could make all the warriors lose heart.

Although this battle achieved the strategic objective of covering the retreat of friendly forces and drawing the greenskins elsewhere.

In terms of combat, they lost; the opponent's final feeling was that he had intentionally let them leave...

It was like an act of charity in battle, and the Space Wolves could not accept such charity.

"Chapter Master, you should rest well first!"

"Your Second Heart was even stopped by the opponent, your whole body is damaged; the injuries are not light!"

"Before we figure out that guy's origin, perhaps we shouldn't act rashly. Besides, they seem to have headed toward the Gate of the Red Angel, which is a good thing for us!"

"Stop, stop, stop, I know!" Logan swallowed and then said.

"I know this is a good thing for the Imperium, but for us, it's absolutely terrible!"

"We have no idea about the origin of this strange mutant, all we know now is that he became the boss of some greenskins and then took those ork Boys to fight demons!"

"Then Chapter Master, should we report this news to the War Council?"

"It's said that the Dark Angels are also involved in this battle, they even have quite a few Terminator veterans, maybe they can help us."

Thump! Logan's fist smashed directly onto the Apothecary's forehead.

The Apothecary felt a bit aggrieved, not understanding why his Chapter Master was hitting him.

"Are you a pig? You're helping the outsiders!"

"Tell the Dark Angels what? Tell them we were beaten into mortals by a mutant?"

"Do you think those guys will laugh at us or help us!"

"Believe me, as soon as they know this news, our failure this time will be forever nailed to the pillar of shame in history!"
