I felt uncomfortable, like something was pressing on my chest. It was hard to open my eyes, and when I did, the light was a little blinding, so I took my time adjusting. When I finally opened them, the first thing I saw was a pair of small golden eyes, followed by Artemis rubbing against my face, which tickled a little.
When I laughed at Artemis, my throat hurt a bit and felt extremely dry. When I managed to push Artemis away a little, I looked around to see where I was. I expected to see Mom, Grandma, or Aunt Helga ready to give me a good scolding, but what surrounded me was completely unfamiliar. What surprised me most was the ghost of a woman floating at the other end of my bed.
When my eyes met the ghost's, I heard her faintly murmur the word 'sister.' I felt incredibly confused, and just as I was about to ask the ghost who she was and where she was, she turned around and walked through the curtains surrounding my bed.
I was tempted to get up and follow the ghost to get some information. I knew I wasn't in a dangerous place since Artemis was calm, just a little stickier than usual. When I opened one of the curtains, I froze in shock when I noticed the other three people in the room a short distance from my bed. They noticed me too and were looking at me curiously.
I couldn't believe my eyes. Standing before me were three characters from my favorite movies, and for a moment, I felt like my brain was short-circuiting at what this could possibly mean.
Seeing me frozen in surprise, a young Emma Watson spoke.
"Hi.
" " Hi."
I understood her words well, since in my past life I spoke several languages, and English was one of them, in addition to my Universal Language ability. But I was so used to the ancient language that I answered her in it without thinking. I saw her confusion at not being able to identify the language I was using, but before I could respond properly, a woman entered along with the ghost that had been near my bed when I awoke. As soon as she saw me up, the woman spoke in a slightly stern tone.
"I see you've woken up, miss, but you'd better return to bed at this time. The potions may have helped you in time, but you still need to rest."
Before I could reply, Hermione said to the woman,
"Madam Pomfrey, I don't think she understands us."
Again, before I could tell them that she did understand, the ghost spoke in the ancient language.
" Sister, you need to return to bed and rest. Your body still needs rest to recover."
I spun around quickly to face the ghost when I heard its first word, but the sudden movement made me dizzy and stumble a little. Before I could fall, I felt someone catch me by the waist, which stopped me.
I ignored the person holding me since what the ghost had said was more important. I studied its face until I found features I was very familiar with, only the ghost's features were a little more mature. Once I understood, my voice came out a little hoarse and shaky.
"Um... Helena?
" " Yes, sister... I'm Helena."
I felt my legs weaken a little, and if it weren't for the person holding me by the waist, I probably would have fallen.
The woman I recognized as Madam Pomfrey approached me, saying,
"Mr. Potter, please help her to the bed."
"Yes, Madam Pomfrey."
I snapped out of my shock when I felt the arm around my waist tighten a little more as he tried to guide me back to the bed. It was only then that I realized Daniel—or rather, Harry Potter—was holding me. I turned my head to get a better look and met a pair of beautiful, curious green eyes.
When our eyes met, Harry blushed, and at another time, perhaps I would have too, since I liked him a lot in my past life. But at this moment, I was somewhere between surprised, confused, and a little nervous.
Once Harry helped me sit up in bed, I said,
"Thank you .
" He was a little surprised but soon recovered and nodded as he stepped back.
"You're welcome."
Madam Pomfrey approached me as soon as I was seated and began casting diagnostic spells on me.
"You're still weak, miss. You haven't finished replacing all the blood you've lost."
Helena also approached and asked,
"Sister, can you understand them?"
I nodded as I told her a little white lie.
"I can... according to Grandma, it's a magical ability from my father's family."
My words surprised not only Helena, but everyone in the room seemed astonished.
Before anyone could say anything else, three more people entered, whom I recognized as Headmaster Albus Dumbledore, Professor Severus Snape, and Deputy Headmistress Minerva McGonagall.
The Headmaster was the first to speak, in a grandfatherly tone.
"I see you're awake now. If it's not too much trouble, we'd like to ask you a few questions."
Before anyone could reply, Madam Pomfrey spoke in a stern tone that left no room for discussion as she handed me a glass of water.
"Albus, the young lady has just woken up, and from what I can see, both she and we need to know what happened and how she got here in that state."
I had a vague idea of what might have happened, but I wasn't entirely sure if my suspicions were correct. Even so, I needed to clear up those doubts, and perhaps Helena or one of them could do it. So, after finishing my glass of water, I turned to them and said,
"Selene."
They all turned to look at me, and Professor McGonagall said,
"Excuse me?
" "Selene Ravenclaw, that's my name."
I heard several gasps of surprise, both from Madam Pomfrey and the Golden Trio. As for the professors, their surprise was only evident in their expressions, which they quickly composed themselves as if nothing had happened.
"First of all, I'd like to know the date, please."
Dumbledore answered me.
"It's June 8, 1994, Miss Ravenclaw.
" "That... I... I see... thank you.
" "Miss Ravenclaw, may we ask you a few questions?"
Seeing me nod, Dumbledore began his questions.
"I see you were surprised when you heard the date. Could you tell us what date you thought it was?"
He turned to Helena as she answered.
"The seventh day of the sixth month of the year 1001."
I could hear a soft murmur of surprise from Professor McGonagall.
"By Merlin's beard!"
Seeing that they didn't seem to believe me, I added, pointing at Helena,
"If you don't believe me, she can confirm it."
Everyone turned to look at Helena's ghost. She nodded as she said,
"What she says is true.
" "Miss Ravenclaw, do you know how you arrived in this era?"
Seeing me shake my head, Helena quickly said,
"Perhaps it would be necessary for me to tell you what happened back then and the conclusions our mother reached."
Seeing Dumbledore nod, Helena continued,
"It all began the day the castle was attacked...".
