Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 – The Mysterious Mentor

Arjun never expected anyone to understand him. Not his parents, not his friends, not even the villagers who now avoided him like he carried a curse.

But that evening, as the sun dipped behind the hills and the village streets emptied, a stranger appeared.

He was tall, dressed in simple dark clothes, yet there was an air of authority about him. His eyes, sharp and deep, seemed to see everything—like he could peer into Arjun's very soul.

"You're the boy who sees tomorrow," the man said quietly, as if stating a fact.

Arjun froze. "Who… who are you?"

"Call me Varun," the stranger replied, his gaze unwavering. "I've been looking for you."

Arjun wanted to run. Something about Varun made him feel… both afraid and strangely safe.

"I know what you're going through," Varun continued. "Seeing the future isn't a gift. Not really. It's a burden. And most people… they won't understand. They'll fear you. Or worse, they'll try to use you."

Arjun's heart thumped. "You… you know about my visions?"

Varun nodded. "I see them too. But I've learned something you haven't yet: knowing the future doesn't mean you can control it. The world has a way of correcting itself. Every time you try to change what's coming… it shifts around you, testing you."

Arjun swallowed hard. "So… I'm powerless?"

"Not powerless," Varun said, smiling faintly. "But careful. Your visions are tools, not weapons. You must learn how to use them wisely. Otherwise, they'll destroy you… or worse, destroy the people you care about."

Arjun felt a mix of fear and relief. Someone understood him. Someone wasn't laughing or running away.

Varun placed a hand on his shoulder. "Come with me. I can teach you how to see without being trapped by what you see. How to live with your gift… and maybe, how to make it work for you."

For the first time in years, Arjun felt hope bloom inside him. But deep down, a question lingered:

Could he trust this stranger? And if he left with Varun… would he ever return to the village he loved?

The stars above twinkled as if urging him to decide. And for the first time, Arjun knew the path ahead was his to choose.
