Chapter 23 - Chapter 23. Can you not come over so early in the morning?

"Malanie, I'm begging you, can you not suddenly appear in my room at this hour?" Leticia, sporting thick dark circles under her eyes, gritted her teeth as she glared at Melanie, who had appeared in her room just as suddenly as before.

She had suffered from insomnia yesterday because of this person, and just when she had finally managed to fall asleep, this person had teleported in with a 'pop' not long after.

Seriously, she had slept for less than three hours; couldn't she just let her get some proper rest?

"I need your help with something." Melanie was dressed in the same outfit as before, exuding an air of fresh, otherworldly elegance.

"Get lost, will you? I only fell asleep at four yesterday; let me get my full eight hours." Leticia pulled her head under the covers, intending to play the ostrich.

Melanie didn't speak again; she stood quietly in place, her crimson eyes calmly watching the lump under the blanket.

If Leticia wanted to sleep, then she could sleep; she would just stand here and watch Leticia sleep.

Could Leticia actually sleep?

Not a chance.

If she were an ordinary person, it might have been fine, but the problem was that Leticia's senses were too sharp.

"Can you go back?" Leticia asked gloomily, pulling the blanket down a little.

With this person standing here, there was no way she could fall asleep.

Melanie calmly shook her head. "I won't disturb you."

"You standing here is the disturbance," Leticia said coldly. "So, why are you looking for me?"

"A game. I can't beat it." Melanie stated her problem quite naturally. "There's a mechanism in one area that I can't solve."

"..." Leticia fell silent for a moment.

After the silence, she threw off the blanket and jumped in front of Melanie. "Can't you just look it up on a forum?"

"What is a forum?"

Looking at Melanie's genuinely confused expression, Leticia had to admit that her expectations for this person had been just a little too high.

Melanie really, truly didn't understand anything about modern society!

"Can't you ask the Guild Leader? If that doesn't work, there's always Yori."

"The Guild Leader played with me for a little while but then had to leave for something. As for Yori... I don't want to trouble her."

"And so you came to trouble me early in the morning! We are enemies, enemies!" Leticia emphasized the relationship between herself and Melanie again. "Do you understand what 'enemy' means?!"

Who runs to an enemy's house early in the morning to ask them how to beat a game?

"I don't consider you an enemy." Melanie reached out and grasped Leticia's wrist. "If you help me, I can grant you one request."

"Huh? Anything at all?"

"I trust you won't make a request that would put me in a difficult position," Melanie said calmly.

"Tch." Leticia huffed, somewhat annoyed. "Forget it, forget it. I don't need your reward; just stop bothering me in the future."

"That won't do." Melanie flatly refused.

Leticia didn't understand. "Why?"

"You are a threat. I need to ensure you don't do anything that would harm the world," Melanie explained seriously.

So, in the end, she still didn't trust her.

The black-haired girl rolled her eyes at Melanie in frustration. She just wanted to live a peaceful life, so why did this person have to keep interfering?

It was like this before, and it's like this now; it's as if they were just fated to clash.

Every time her life got back on track, this person would always pop up and throw a wrench into it.

It was truly infuriating.

"Actually, you don't really mind being in contact with me, do you?" Melanie took Leticia's hand and stated, as if it were a simple fact, "Since just now, you've had countless opportunities to pull away, but you didn't."

"I do not!" Leticia immediately pulled her hand back. Just as Melanie had said, Leticia had indeed had countless opportunities to pull her hand away just now.

However, Leticia hadn't wanted to do that.

She didn't know what she was thinking; she just felt that Melanie's hand was soft and warm, and she wanted to be held by it.

"I'm heading back now. If you don't come later, I'll just drag you there." Noticing Leticia blushing, Melanie nodded with some satisfaction; she had confirmed one thing now.

Leticia truly didn't mind her.

This black-haired girl, just as Yori and the Guild Leader had said, was a total tsundere.

Melanie's figure vanished instantly, just as suddenly as she had appeared.

Looking at the empty room, Leticia stomped her foot hard. "That jerk!"

"Your Majesty?" Luna opened the door to the room just then. "Breakfast is ready."

"Luna, you were outside the door the whole time, weren't you?" Leticia looked at Luna, whose expression seemed a bit off.

"Ahem. Your Majesty's feelings for Malanie Ling seem a bit complicated." Luna's expression was complex; she really hadn't expected her Majesty to have developed such peculiar feelings for Miss Sword Saint.

"I do not! She and I are sworn enemies!"

"Although it might not be appropriate for me to say this, Your Majesty, having the courage to face your own heart is also a necessary condition for becoming strong."
