Chapter 154 - Chapter 153 Leticia rolled her eyes

"It's fine, just for a little while." Melanie didn't say much more and leaned directly onto Leticia's body. "Actually, it's quite comfortable."

Leticia rolled her eyes, "I didn't agree to you leaning on me."

"Eh heh heh."

"Forget it, forget it. If you're tired, hurry up and sleep." Leticia took out her phone, planning to pass the time with a game.

But Melanie wasn't exactly honest. She seemed to find Leticia's shoulder uncomfortable to lean on, and while Leticia wasn't paying attention, she lay down on Leticia's lap.

Although Leticia was wearing a long dress today, Melanie only touched a layer of fabric, but this still made Leticia blush a little.

How did it suddenly turn into this?

Did she agree to let Melanie use her lap as a pillow? No, right? Wasn't it just leaning on her shoulder?

"Hey, get up. I didn't agree to let you sleep on my lap." Leticia poked Melanie's face with her finger.

The elastic skin felt good to poke. Leticia couldn't help but poke it a few more times. When she realized what she had just done, she blushed and retracted her hand.

It was too embarrassing; she absolutely couldn't let anyone else find out.

And Melanie adhered to the principle that if she pretended to be dead, no one could wake her up, resolutely making no response.

This made Leticia think that Melanie was really asleep.

Then, as if by some strange impulse, she reached out her hand and poked Melanie's face again.

While poking, she also started pinching. Melanie's face was kneaded back and forth in her hands, changing into various shapes.

Honestly, this felt very uncomfortable, but Melanie didn't dare to open her eyes. After all, she was pretending to sleep, and if she woke up like this, she felt it would expose her pretense.

In that case, she might have to face Leticia's stormy offensive, which made Melanie a little afraid to open her eyes... "Awake? If you're awake, get up."

Leticia's face-pinching only lasted for ten minutes before stopping. For the next hour or so, she was playing games.

And Melanie did indeed doze off for a while. Although Leticia's thighs weren't as soft as hers, they were still quite good as a pillow.

At least Melanie slept quite comfortably.

When she awoke from her light sleep, Leticia immediately poked her forehead, telling her to get up.

"Just let me lie down a little longer. Anyway, I've already had a nap, so a little longer won't hurt, right?" Melanie blinked, still wanting to linger on Leticia's lap for a bit longer.

This shameless behavior made Leticia grit her teeth. She indignantly lifted her leg, "Don't push your luck!"

Letting her use her as a pillow for a nap was already Leticia's limit of endurance. Now she still wanted to keep clinging, and Leticia couldn't tolerate that anymore.

"Oh, then I'll get up." Melanie sat up a little dejectedly. "We're almost at our destination, and today's speed is much faster than expected."

"Because there were fewer cars on the road today, the speed was much faster," the Black-clad Driver explained.

"Songstress Xue'er and Candice are already waiting for us there. The Elf Race people will arrive in about an hour." Melanie took out her phone and checked the time. "Oh, I forgot to tell you yesterday, Candice said that Miss Xi will wake up today."

"I already know," Leticia said, shaking her phone. After Miss Xi woke up, Luna sent the message to her phone. "You should have gotten the message too, right?"

Melanie was stunned; she hadn't checked the unread messages on her phone yet.

Opening her phone, she indeed found a message stating that Miss Xi had woken up.

During the rest of the journey, there was no communication between Melanie and Leticia. The atmosphere in the car couldn't be described as harmonious; it could only be called awkward.

Fortunately, this agonizing time alone was soon coming to an end.

Opening the car door and jumping out, Leticia took a deep breath of the fresh outdoor air, feeling her mood lighten considerably.

This was a dilapidated manor on the outskirts of Central City. Its previous owner had gone to who knows where, perhaps died, or perhaps forgotten that such a place existed.

In short, after a long period of being ownerless, this manor was finally remembered and became the residence of a certain Half-Elf Miss.

This manor was also a famous haunted house. Generally, no one would approach it. Melanie chose this place precisely because few people would come here, and it had ample space, convenient for setting up defenses.

But why Miss Xi would appear here, only she herself would know.

"Let's go in first," Melanie said to Leticia as she also got out of the car.

"Let's go, you lead the way."

"Follow me."

The two walked together into the heavily guarded large house. The poisoned Miss Xi and Eriko both lived here, but because the house was so large, they had not met each other.

"It's a bit old," Leticia said with a frown, looking at the mottled walls and rusty interior decorations.

Melanie shrugged, "It's good enough to live in. A few days ago, the environment here was even worse. Only Eriko's room was temporarily tidied up so she could stay."

Although it's a bit old now, at least it looks habitable, right?

"Let's go see Miss Xi first." Melanie led Leticia to a room and raised her hand to knock on the door. "It's me, and Ohara."

A few seconds later, the door opened from the inside. The Songstress Miss, looking a bit unwell, revealed a pair of cautious eyes. After confirming that it was indeed Melanie and Leticia outside the door, she fully opened the door.

"Malanie's social circle is truly surprising," the Songstress said to Melanie with a meaningful tone after the two entered the room and she closed the door.

The Songstress was no naive sweet girl. She immediately recognized the races of Luna and Candice, and also realized that she and these two demons seemed to be on the same side at the moment.

For her, a former hero who had fought demons almost to her wits' end, to now stand with demons, the Songstress found it truly unimaginable.

But the Magic Array under Miss Xi's bed told her a cruel truth: currently, she really had to stand with these two demons.

"More friends, more paths," Leticia said with a chuckle. "I heard Little Xi has woken up. How is she now?"

When Little Xi was mentioned, the Songstress's expression softened a little. "Her consciousness is clear, but her mobility hasn't recovered, so she can only lie in bed."

"Good morning, Miss Sukina, Malanie." Luna, standing by with a smile, politely greeted Leticia and Melanie.

She was currently playing the role of a demon intelligence merchant, and her relationship with the human Melanie and Quinn Sukina was purely professional, not bad personally, but nothing more.

"Morning, Miss Xue'er," Leticia replied just as affectedly. "Good morning, Doctor Candice."

"Mm, good," Candice replied without lifting her head from examining Miss Xi.

After greeting everyone in the room, Leticia finally had time to observe Miss Xi, who was lying in bed wearing a thin nightgown.

She looked quite similar to the movie's female lead, but with some minor differences in detail; she wasn't as beautiful as in the promotional images and the movie.

But this was normal; modern makeup artistry was quite terrifying.

At this moment, Miss Xi's cheeks were slightly flushed, and her eyes darted around uncomfortably in their sockets.

The reason, of course, was the physical examination Candice was giving her.

After finishing, Candice wrote a few lines in her notebook and said to everyone, "Her condition is still good. The Elf antidote is effective, but the toxins are still accumulated in her heart."

"Although it might not be appropriate for me to ask, Miss Xi, why are you here?" Leticia cleared her throat and asked a very important question.

Was Miss Xi's appearance here an accident?

"Um, my name is Xi Mengyao." Xi Mengyao first stated her name, then began to answer Leticia's question. "I just wanted to come and see the filming location for the next movie, but as soon as I arrived, I ran straight into a man in black, and I don't know what happened after that."

"But the agency is still debating your next arrangements," the Songstress said, puzzled. "Who told you this was the filming location for the next movie?"

"Huh? My agent, he called and told me."
