I looked up at his face and caught him rolling his eyes at me. "Did you just roll your eyes at me, Alpha?"
A low grumble left his chest and his eyes flashed black. He dropped his hand and closed the distance between us in a few long strides. I backed up until I was standing at the very edge of the hillside with nowhere left to go. His hand came up slowly and cupped my jaw, and the tension in my shoulders dissolved at how gentle the contact was. His thumb moved across my lips and I let my eyes close against the warmth of it.
"Why is it that every time you open that mouth of yours, I cannot help but admire every single piece of you," he said quietly.
I opened my eyes to find his face very close to mine. My mouth opened and nothing came out.
