Chapter 123: professor Lupin or uncle Lupin
But the good name and being the son of Sirius has balanced each other making the people only thank him lightly. Percy Weasley that was promoted as the head boy even snorted at Jack but did not thank him.
Jack did not care and gave chocolates to some people that he knows to let them recover. Professor Lupin walked over from the other side and finally met Jack that is giving chocolate pieces to other students.
"Is the phoenix just now your Patronus charm?"
He asked Jack with some doubts and confusion. Jack nodded and said.
"Yes, professor Lupin. By the way, it is good to make an acquaintance with you. Should I call you uncle Lupin? After all you are my father's friend and close like a brother, may be not as my father is still condemned as a criminal right now."
Jack held his arm and gave a shake his hand firmly. Lupin did not give him any complement right now and only said "Good work"
After that Jack moved away back to his box with his girls following behind. He did not care about Lupin. All his previous talk is just nonsense to create a familiar situation to test the waters.
Originally Lupin should not be here. This is because werewolves are not allowed to do work in England based on the new rules and law of the ministry of magic. But Lupin slipped out of the group and was supported by Dumbledore.
Jack also knows about this and Lupin did not know about Jack's life or other things. There might be other reasons involved and Jack doesn't know but all he knows is that Lupin was supported by the order of phoenix.
So Jack doesn't care about this matter. Hermione and other girls heard that it was Jack that casted the Patronus charm to protect them all from the Dementors. Naturally it is like a hero's good deeds spreading giving more fame to him.
Hermione was especially hit hard and decided to work even harder to improve and reach new heights to compete with Jack. She did not forget her first kiss and the follow up kisses with Jack.
Also Jack visited her when she was petrified. She might not be able to move but she can feel the presence and know who visited her. Even though Jack did not visit her separately, but his words of care for her has made her feelings towards Jack change.
But the news of the escape of Sirius black and once again explaining the old situation in the news papers along with not seeing Jack for over 2 months has created flaws in her feelings. Even she doesn't know about what she feels about Jack.
Actually it is not her feelings that got flaws but it was because of the plot correction that is pulling her away from Jack. She needs to get connected with Ron. This is an important thing for the plot.
So it is trying its best to correct her feelings and create flaws. It will simply magnify the small details that have negative impact towards Jack and the big favors from him would be simplified as nothing.
Jack understood this point. So he did not act about this matter. He decided to hit the things with his quality and quantity to break open the plot. He would dismantle the entire thing to the point where the fight between Harry and Voldemort would change its nature.
It would not be something as important as the fight between good and evil instead it would turn into something as simple as a street fight and family feud between two idiots and lunatics.
Harry was unconscious all the way back to Hogwarts. When he wakes up Draco taunts him naturally. Jack did not care about this matter and let them play the quarrel of the house wives shaking their hips and tits.
Jack was called by professor Mcgonagall along with Harry and Hermione after Harry woke up. Jack waited by the side as professor Mcgonagall spoke with Harry about his situation in the train when he faced Dementors.
"Professor Lupin had informed her by Owl Post of your adverse reaction to the Dementor. So I want Jack and Hermione to take you to madam Pomfrey to have a complete check just in case if there is a problem."
After she said that she turned towards Jack and said.
"Jack you have acted bravely and the Gryffindor would be awarded with 40 house points even before the start of the year. It is all thanks to you and congratulations. Now can you take Harry for the check up?"
With that Hermione looked at Jack with a little admiration. Jack on the other hand looked at professor McGonagall and felt like the points given to him is not free and they want to use him as a baby sitter to take care of Harry.
Harry has different thoughts and no one knows what he is feeling right now. It might be anger, or hatred or something else. After knowing the information about the father of Jack and his escape from the Azkaban, Harry became more nervous.
He is also a little paranoid right now. This is the reason why his reaction towards the Dementors is much higher than that of in the original plot. He directly objected that Jack should not take him to the hospital wing.
Seeing his reaction and rejection, professor McGonagall sighed as she cannot blame Harry or Jack because neither of them is at fault for the things that happened in the past that is related to their parents.
So she said to Jack. "Okay then, Jack you can leave, Hermione and I will take him to the hospital wing. I will call you if there is any need."
Hermione and professor McGonagall took Harry to the hospital wing to meet with madam Pomfrey. Jack on the other hand returned back to the main hall. The first years have not arrived yet.
