A/N: Seems Toph won.
Honestly, I didn't expect Toph to be your chosen candidate since she's kinda blind — but this would surely make me busier. I was not a fan of Avatar from my childhood till now, but because of you guys, I have to rewatch the entire series again, which is kinda stressful and time-consuming since I have exams coming up.
So, to show this author that my work isn't in vain, why don't you drop a Power Stone? (I'm not forcing anyone, though, since it's still my novel.)
.......
Okinawa.
Suguru led Riko and Kuroi through the hotel grounds, running toward the entrance — suddenly, he pushed the two down and also ducked.
Swoosh!
Boom!
A projectile whizzed past his head, striking the ground not far away and stirring a small gale.
Suguru, still on the ground, hurriedly rolled away — and just then, a leg came crashing down where he had stood, creating cracks that spread far. Toji coldly looked at the squatting Suguru and moved again.
Swoosh!
Cursed energy seeped from Suguru's body, and a cursed spirit materialized, moving so fast that it became a blur.
Swoosh!
Bang!
The Inverted Spear of Heaven came crashing down, but the cursed spirit had already dodged. In that moment of Toji's pause, Suguru utilized the opening.
Cursed energy seeped out from his body again, and a large, multicolored serpentine dragon curled and roared at Toji — from its mouth, a colorful bright beam shot out.
Boom!
The Inverted Spear of Heaven casually cut through the beam, and just as Toji was about to advance, he changed movement and jumped instead. Where he once stood, a centipede burst from the ground, mandibles snapping firmly — unfortunately, its target was airborne.
Just as it was about to retreat, the Inverted Spear of Heaven pierced its body, killing it.
"You're strong. But still weaker than that Satoru kid," Toji said — but just as he was about to move, he froze, alarm bells ringing in his mind. Without hesitation, he twisted his body.
Boom!
A stone struck the ground, piercing it deep. If Toji was just a little bit slower, his abdomen would surely have been pierced.
Toji jumped back without hesitation, warily staring at the white-haired, azure-eyed figure — Satoru — who slowly descended to the floor, various stones levitating around him.
"Miscalculation. Time to retreat," Toji muttered tensely. If he had known that the sorcerer who had approached him was all show and no substance, he wouldn't have stayed trying to kill Riko and complete the mission.
Swoosh!
Toji turned and retreated — but how could Satoru let him get away?
The stones around Satoru moved like bullets, each descending toward Toji — but he was one who had lived and fought through many battles; his sixth sense was incredibly acute.
Swoosh! Swoosh!
Toji kept dodging as he ran away — but suddenly, the air felt heavy, and before he could react, the pressure around him instantly increased. His movement switched from fast to sluggish, to not being able to walk.
'Not in the intel… a hidden technique?'Toji thought grimly as the pressure pressed him down, the ground caving in under his weight.
"Any last words?" Satoru asked as he stared at Toji, the pressure increasing.
Toji stiffly turned his head and smiled, blood spilling from his mouth in gashes. "Tell Megumi… No, forget it."
"It's all yours."
Those were Toji's last words as he vomited a huge amount of blood — and when the pressure dissipated, he fell to the ground — dead.
Satoru calmly walked to his corpse and stared at him for a while before picking up the Inverted Spear of Heaven.
"This would fit Maki perfectly," Satoru muttered. "That reminds me… I should check up on her… see if I can help."
After carrying the weapon, Satoru turned to Riko, Kuroi, and Suguru.
"He's dead."
As Satoru said those two words, Riko fell to the ground, her face pale. No matter how she tried to act mature or how cheerful she was, the sight of a bleeding corpse and the fact she almost died still made her instinctively want to vomit all her food out — but surprisingly, she held it in.
Kuroi's face also became pale, but unlike Riko, her thoughts went further.
The assimilation of Riko was closer.
(A/N: Should I just make Tengen mutate? I mean, it's not like the barrier stops, and Kenjaku can't touch him.)
Though it was not yet the prior time, the arrival of Toji would surely accelerate the proposed tims — and just as she thought —
"Let's go," Suguru said as he weakly stood up and turned to the two females.
"O-okay," Riko answered weakly, trying her best not to look at Toji.
' I don't want to merge any longer' Riko thought as she walked — but yet, she didn't voice it out.
She couldn't be selfish. The safety of not only the jujutsu world but also the normal one rested on her shoulders.
.......
As they drove toward the airport, Satoru opened the group chat. They were still talking about his fight against Toji, Kenjaku, and Jogo.
But he wasn't in the mood to read it — instead, he sent a single message.
[The honored one: @all, if you were to choose between saving someone you cared about or going against the world, which would you choose?]
Apart from the days he had stayed with Riko, she was also one of Satoru's favorite characters in his past life — and he found the way they thrust her into shouldering a mission bigger than herself cruel. No matter how selfish it seemed, he wanted to save her and let her live a normal school life.
[Blood Moon Valkyrie: For Cid? I'll go against the world — even if it means killing the rulers of the world.]
Unsurprisingly, Claire was the first to reply.
[Unlucky reincarnator: I'll definitely go against the world — even if it kills me!]
[I refuse to marry: Why must the world put a leash on you? Going against them would be what I'll do.]
[I'm a samurai: If it's someone I care about, I'll protect them. The world can wait for its turn.]
[Slug Sannin: I've seen enough to know — you save the person in front of you first. The "world" can wait.
But if you're going against the world, you'd better be strong enough to back it up.]
Seeing the chat group replies, Satoru smiled. Though he had already decided to go against the orders of the higher-ups — and sent the message in a moment of melancholy — it still felt right knowing there were others who would show him his selfishness wasn't that selfish.
Satoru stared at the buildings, a slow smile forming on his lips.
'What plot? What rules? I'll break it all!'
..........
A/N: Since you guys didn't want a reincarnator, I've decided not to put any.
