Chapter 28 - Part 29:The Distance That Didn’t Feel Like Distance

The morning felt different.

Not because anything had changed—

but because everything was about to.

Suitcases were being packed.

Rooms were half empty.

Voices echoed in corridors—

not loud, but restless.

The trip was ending.

And with it—

something else was slipping away too.

Pixel stood near the window of her room, folding her clothes slowly.

Not because it took time—

but because she wasn't rushing.

Because leaving felt…

heavier than she expected.

🧠 Pixel's Thoughts

This is better.

The thought came clearly.

Back to normal.

Back to control.

No complications.

No confusion.

No him.

Her hands paused for a second.

Then continued.

👀 Ketty Notices

Ketty sat on the bed, watching her.

"You're quiet again."

Pixel didn't look up.

"I usually am."

Ketty smiled slightly.

"Not like this."

A small pause.

Then she added—

"You're avoiding something."

Pixel stopped folding for a second.

Then said calmly—

"I'm not."

But even she knew—

that wasn't completely true.

🚍 Departure Scene

The buses were ready.

Students gathered outside.

Luggage.

Voices.

Goodbyes.

Everything felt rushed—

except her.

Pixel stood near the side, holding her bag.

And without realizing—

her eyes searched.

Just once.

Then she looked away immediately.

👀 Stephan

He stood near Johan and Hill.

Talking.

Or pretending to.

Because his attention—

was somewhere else.

Her.

He saw her.

Standing slightly away.

Not looking.

Not coming closer.

And that—

was new.

🧠 Stephan's Thoughts

She's avoiding me.

This time—

it wasn't a guess.

It was clear.

And he didn't like it.

⚡ The Almost Moment

For a second—

their eyes almost met.

Almost.

But Pixel looked away first.

Before it could happen.

And that one second—

said everything.

🚌 Bus Ride

Seats filled quickly.

Groups formed.

Friends sat together.

Pixel sat beside Ketty.

Near the window.

Looking outside.

Not talking much.

Stephan entered a few seconds later.

His eyes moved once—

towards her seat.

Then stopped.

Daniel sat beside him.

Not by chance.

But not forced either.

🧊 Silent Ride

The bus moved.

Music played softly.

Students talked.

But between them—

there was nothing.

No conversation.

No interaction.

Just distance.

And for the first time—

it felt intentional.

🧠 Parallel Thoughts

Pixel:This is better.

Stephan:This doesn't feel right.

🎓 Back to College

The gates of the college appeared.

Familiar.

Normal.

Safe.

Everything went back to how it was supposed to be.

Or at least—

it looked like it.

🌆 Days Pass

Classes resumed.

Assignments.

Lectures.

Routine.

Everything moved forward.

Except them.

Pixel avoided him.

Not dramatically.

Not obviously.

Just… consistently.

Different seats.

Different timings.

Different paths.

And Stephan noticed every single one.

🧠 Stephan's Frustration

Why is she doing this?

He didn't understand.

Not fully.

But he knew one thing—

This distance wasn't accidental.

📱 The Photo Scene (IMPORTANT ❤️)

That night—

Pixel sat on her bed, her phone in her hand.

She wasn't scrolling.

Not texting.

Just… holding it.

Then slowly—

she opened her gallery.

Scrolled.

Stopped.

A picture.

From the trip.

Not perfect.

Not posed.

Just a random moment—

Stephan standing near Stevan.

Talking.

Unaware.

Pixel stared at it.

For longer than she should have.

Then—

locked her phone.

Placed it aside.

Closed her eyes.

🧠 Pixel's Truth

This is why I can't.

The thought was clear.

Because if she allowed this—

she wouldn't be able to stop.

And she already knew—

where it would end.

📱 Stephan's Side

In another room—

Stephan sat on his bed.

His phone in his hand.

Same silence.

Same stillness.

He opened his gallery too.

Scrolled.

Stopped.

A picture.

Pixel.

Not looking at the camera.

Just standing—

slightly distracted.

Calm.

Unreachable.

He stared at it.

Then leaned back slowly.

🧠 Stephan's Realization

She's not avoiding me for no reason.

There was something.

Something he didn't know yet.

And that—

was what mattered now.

🔥 Ending Scene

Pixel turned her phone face down.

Stephan held his a little longer.

Two different places.

Same silence.

Same feeling.

Neither of them saying anything.

But both—

unable to ignore it.

Because sometimes—

distance doesn't make feelings disappear…

it only makes themharder to ignore.
