Dormitory Three stood tall and well-maintained, a clear contrast to the more modest buildings further away.
As Luo Feng entered, conversations quieted briefly.
A boy sitting near the entrance glanced up. "New student?"
"Yes. Luo Feng."
The boy smirked lightly. "You must be the one with the recommendation letter. Word travels fast."
Another student leaned back in his chair. "From a village, right? Interesting."
Luo Feng didn't respond to the tone. Instead, he calmly placed his belongings by an empty bed.
The first boy stood and walked over, extending a hand.
"Zhao Lin. Since you're here, try to keep up."
Luo Feng shook his hand. "I plan to."
Zhao Lin studied him for a moment, then chuckled. "We'll see."
After that Luo feng strolled around the academy looking at various classes identifying a quiet place for training and relaxing at the dorm
As night approached a teacher came and gave him his schedule and uniform and also walked him through the academy rules
At dinner time Luo feng went to the cafeteria, the food while not lavish was very good
It was all free for him because of the recommendation letter, so unlike tang san he didn't had to look for work urgently but he still had to solve his money problem quickly as having no money is pretty stifling.
The academy at night felt nothing like the bustling place Luo Feng had seen during the day. The long stone corridors were quiet, lit only by faint spirit lamps that flickered like tired fireflies. Outside, a cool wind brushed against the tiled roofs, whispering secrets of a world far bigger than anything he had known.
Luo Feng lay on his narrow bed, staring at the ceiling.
It was his first night here.
For a long time, he didn't sleep.
because his mind refused to settle. The events of the day replayed endlessly: the imposing gates of the academy, the unfamiliar faces, the subtle pressure he felt from stronger students.
But eventually, exhaustion overtook him. His breathing slowed, his body relaxed, and under the quiet hum of the academy night, Luo Feng drifted into sleep.
