Chapter 23 - Rest, Recovery, and a New World!

You couldn't call it the fall of a hero; at best, it was merely the execution of a villain.

Dio had been burned to ashes by the power of the Ripple, while Diego was temporarily taken away by the people from the SPW Foundation.

Zenith gathered a group of architectural talents. One team was tasked with designing an underground Impel Down-style prison, while the other was to design his massive mansion in the Minecraft Overworld.

Using the sky as a blanket and the earth as a bed, just plopping down a door and calling the whole world home—Zenith admitted he still wasn't used to that kind of rugged survivalist lifestyle. If he could have modern facilities, he was damn well going to use them.

However, this meant his building materials were running dangerously low. To achieve the aesthetic Zenith wanted, he would definitely need a massive amount of quartz.

Fortunately, the one thing he didn't lack right now was time. After a long period of discussion and experimentation with these architectural geniuses and the elites of the SPW Foundation, they finally built Zenith's very first automated mining machine.

It covered an 87-block height differential, took only 4 minutes and 18 seconds for the machine to advance a single block, and boasted an item collection rate of 97%.

Designing this mining machine took about three to four months. Forcing these scientific elites to abandon their worldly views of physics and understand Minecraft's game logic and block mechanics was a highly complex task in itself.

By now, you could say the SPW Foundation was brimming with Redstone masters. Although Zenith couldn't build them himself, he still knew the names and specific functions of familiar contraptions like automatic cobblestone generators, string duplicators, and World Eaters.

Armed with a research direction, these big brains could figure it out and craft it by hand.

Zenith kept a very thick book and a large box of VHS tapes in his inventory, all filled with tutorials for various Redstone machines. They were idiot-proof guides—as long as you followed the steps, you were guaranteed to get it right on the first try, dropping the failure rate to absolute zero.

With a nearly infinite supply of resources, the construction of Zenith's luxurious manor and the underground Impel Down prison proceeded in an orderly fashion. He even carved out a massive designated area near the golden portal, allowing approved individuals from the JoJo universe to come in, relax, and hang out.

As more mods were added in the future, the randomly generated mobs in the Overworld would inevitably grow stronger. For their own safety, restricting their movement area was an absolute necessity.

Of course, there was no need to worry about anyone with ulterior motives sneaking in. Every single person who entered the portal required Zenith's explicit permission. Otherwise, even if they stood right inside that golden curtain of light, the teleportation wouldn't trigger.

There was no further news from the people of the Eyes of Heaven parallel universe; it seemed Diego's arrival was just a fluke. But Zenith couldn't be entirely sure. Regardless, he would deal with whatever threats came his way.

While looting Dio's mansion, Zenith found the Bow and Arrow capable of awakening a Stand. Unfortunately, the Arrow's mechanics seemed to conflict with Minecraft's hit registration. Zenith stabbed himself with it multiple times, but he couldn't awaken a unique Stand of his own. It was a bit of a shame.

His Overworld mansion even included a marina large enough to dock yachts, and an airport capable of launching helicopters and private jets. It was just that the technological level of the 1980s wasn't quite up to par yet. The planes, in particular, were old relics with rather mediocre comfort and flight speeds.

Zenith and Joseph took a trip to Morioh to visit Tomoko and his illegitimate son, Josuke Higashikata. Zenith felt it wasn't his place to judge their personal relationship drama. Anyway, in the end, Josuke and his mom ended up moving into Jotaro's house.

Even though Tomoko and Ms. Holly were technically a generation apart in the family tree, their actual age difference wasn't that big. The two of them were definitely going to become besties.

A sound like an achievement unlocking suddenly chimed in his ear. Zenith flipped open his system interface, and under the list of worlds available to join, he finally saw a new option.

[SYSTEM: New multiplayer server detected:]

Fate/stay night.

Type-Moon!

A world of magic and magecraft, of Heroic Spirits and the Holy Grail War. The Fate universe's lore was incredibly complex, but if it was just *Fate/stay night*, it was easy enough to grasp.

The Fifth Holy Grail War.

Heroic Spirits were entities formed from heroes whose great deeds had become legends after their deaths, turning them into objects of worship.

Like the universally known ahoge-sporting Saber, King Arthur of Britain, Artoria Pendragon. Or the one hailed as the oldest of kings, the demigod King of Heroes who ruled the ancient Sumerian city-state, Gilgamesh.

In the Holy Grail War, Heroic Spirits were summoned by magi, forming a Servant and Master contract bound by Command Spells. Seven Masters would slaughter each other on the battlefield of the Holy Grail War—Fuyuki City—until only one remained to claim victory.

The victor could then use the power of the Holy Grail to grant their wish.

Finally, a new map to explore. The mundane daily life of the past few months had made Zenith realize one thing: he was the type of person who simply couldn't sit still.

Time to start recruiting teammates, then. Jotaro and Kakyoin had to go to school, Mr. Joestar was currently suffering from domestic violence at the hands of his wife, Polnareff was busy opening a winery back in his hometown, Avdol wanted to travel the world, and even Iggy was planning to spend time with his harem of dogs.

Traveling solo was fine too. As the representative material for magical energy, opening a portal to the Fate universe required a frame built out of Lapis Lazuli.

"Expected as much. Let's run a little experiment first."

The first test: if he completely closed the portal and severed the connection between the two worlds, would reopening it take him to a parallel universe, or would it reconnect to the exact same world?

Verifying this was simple. He just needed to open the door and place a block on the other side.

The results were highly satisfactory. It seemed the worlds his portals connected to were fixed, meaning he didn't have to worry about permanently losing contact with the friends and companions he had made.

"Let's hurry up and see how far the plot has progressed. The JoJo world was entirely linear, leaving me with zero room to flex. This time, I'm going to have some real fun!"

Mining the Lapis Lazuli portal frame to close the connection behind him, Zenith breathed in the air of 2004. He had just leaped forward twenty years in history; this world would finally have some decent technology to keep him entertained.

The *Mahou Tsukai* mod? Compared to the previously unlocked mods, the popularity of this one was off the charts, and the sheer richness of its content was on a whole other level.

*It's the visual effects! The special effects I've been dreaming of!*

Zenith flipped through the JEI crafting recipe menu. Magic scrolls, super staffs, Heroic Spirit weapons... *Oh, hell yes.* Fuyuki City would be under his protection now. All you Holy Grail War participants recklessly destroying the city with your battles, just wait to face my righteous judgment!

Zenith was about to go completely unhinged again. This time, he was gearing up to be a Heroic Spirit Hunter and protect this disaster-prone city. While he was at it, he figured he'd kidnap Shirou Emiya. He couldn't wait to see how the Heroic Spirit EMIYA—the red Archer—would react to seeing a Stand User version of Shirou.

Just thinking about it was hilarious.
