The next day Turi wakes up feeling refreshed.
It's been quite a while since she had a good sleep.
Now that she has found living animals, Turi is quite relaxed now. She is 90% sure that she will meet humans or similar race if she keep walking one day. The area is also getting more habitable as she walks. So she decides to not to rush anymore.
Turi is currently thinking of increasing her belongings. To tell the truth she currently penniless. She doesn't have any thing valuable that could be exchanged with others if she stumble upon any human settlements in future.
And people maybe find her suspicious without any stuff on her. Although she is dressed luxuriously with jewelleries and so on all of that comes of her own body. She can't give them away.
" There many wild animals here. There must be some river or water sources nearby. It would be great if I could find any river. Let's search for it."
Turi first puts out the fire that she made last night. She makes sure there isn't even any sparks left cause it can easily start a wild fire in this dry grassland. She dumps some water on it to be safe.
Then she dugs out the rabbit hide that she stored in the ice she made and wrapped dry grass around it. She baried it deep in the ground to slow up the melting.
When she unwrapped the grass bundle, there was still one third of the ice left inside and the rabbit hide also didn't spoil. You have to say the insulation properties of soil is good.
Turi Keept the rabbit hide because it is the first animal she hunted in her life and it's also useful. She takes out the rabbit hide and puts it in a basket she crudely made with dried grass. It's her first time making one and it took a while for her to make it. Nevermind the appearance, what matters as long as it works and she can improve herself in future.
She covers the hide with some ice. She made the ice by collecting water vapour from the air and transferring it's heat to surrounding air to lower the waters temperature below the freezing point.
After checking everything carefully Turi starts her journey. She looked for animal tracks to search for river. She has been searching for the whole morning. Suddenly Turi hear a faint sound of water flowing. She starts to run towards the direction the sound came from.
After a while she stopped her running cause the river is now within the hundred kilometres range of her divine sense. It's more of a stream then a river. But it's still quite good. She can now follow it to reach human settlements as historically civilizations usually begins near the rivers any water source.
Turi have been following the stream for eight to nine days already. The stream has already joined a medium scale river at this point. In past few days she has caught some small to big fish in the river to have a taste. Turi also realised she needs salt. Those bland fishes doesn't suit her tastebud.
Turi is already accustomed with her south asian palate. She already had a difficult time to adjust with the completely new flavours while living abroad. So she mostly used to cook at home.
She was also searching for mountain salt while walking. Unfortunately she couldn't find any. So she tries to think of a different method as she wasn't near the sea either.
After some time she remembered that soil also does contain table salt aka NaCl. But the amount is very small. The average amount in grassland would be around 0.1%.
"So what I still need salt. I really can't stand it anymore. It's better to stop eating then eating bland food. I have to try collecting some from the soil." Turi says with determination.
Turi decides to settle down here for now because she is already in a forest with towering trees around her. She believes there are enough resources here. She decides to build a house first.
Turi cut a big tree with her sharp nails. Her nails are tougher then iron and is very sharp. She has been using it for hunting and other things instead of knife. Well it works better then knifes.
She also cuts some stone bricks from nearby rocky mountain. Then she digs a big square pit, lays a layer of gravel and river sand at the bottom. Then she arranges the logs in column to form the walls and lays two layers of stone bricks at bottom to make the floor and secure the logs tightly so they don't fall over.
She fills the gaps with river sand and makes a simple flat roof. She also cuts out an window and makes a wooden door and window panels. With that her simple wooden shed is ready.
After that turi also makes a wooden bed, a table, two chairs and one cabinet. It takes her about two days to make all of them.
" Finally big projects are over. I can now relax a bit. Let's take things slowly from now on"
Like that Turi has been living in this forest for three years now. During this time she did many things like she used her magic power or you can say qi to forcefully separate edible salt from the soil. It took her many trial and error to do so.
But the result was satisfactory. She doesn't need to eat bland foods anymore. Turi also added a kitchen, a well, a store room and a toilet to her home. She enclosed the whole area with with stone wall to make a small courtyard.
She planted different edible fruit trees in her courtyard garden that she collected from the forest. She decorated her garden with different wild flowers.
During this period Turi also discovered some new ways to use her powers. She found that she can effect the growth of plants like making the seeds sprout without soil and water, make them grow quickly, flower early and bear fruits so on.
She guessed it might be related to the fact that she is a plant herself. Her affinity with plants is excellent. The second most thing she is good at is controlling temperature.
She can make anything ice or hot by transferring the heat to one object to another.
She can also lift any heavy objects within the range of her divine sense without touching them just by removing the work of gravitational force on them.
Turi also made pottery and ceramics. She weaved clothes using plants fiber and dyed them using the thing she could found in the surroundings.
Unfortunately she has been able to only dye gray, green, brown and yellowish colours. It's so sad she doesn't have any dyeing knowledge. She has been able to make pottery and ceramics thanks to her talent of controlling the temperature.
She has also collected many wild grains from the grassland she had been previously. Actually she didn't recognise any edible grass seeds. Mostly she remembers about is foxtails grass . As an anime enthusiast she watched Dr. Stone and saw senku making ramen with foxtail grass or millet. After that in a moment of curiosity she searched it in Google that all.
She decides the rest by simply eating them. Wether this plant tastes right or they contain poison or not she will know all by tasting herself.
It all started when she ate one mushroom thinking it was shitake mushroom. But it wasn't, a while after eating that mushroom Turi started to see everything in twins.
Turi was panicked thinking she was going to die. But then she remembered she isn't a normal human, actually not a human at all and she is a cutivator. Why would she die by simply eating a wrong mushroom?
Then Turi started to observe her body carefully and soon found some suspicious substance in her blood stream. She then just used her powers to dispelled the poison form her body and she was completely fine afterwards.
Since then she isn't particularly concerned about food poisoning. All she cares about now is taste. If it tastes good then it's included in her food palate directly.
Recently Turi have been preparing to leave this forest. Because she has found a human settlement. It all started when 26 days ago she found an wounded bear at three hundred kilometres away from her house. The bear had arrows logged into its hide.
After founding that she quickly started searching in the direction that the bear came from and soon found a group of hunters nearby. Those guys were wearing patched ancient chinese style clothes.
Turi started to follow them. Those hunter roamed in the forest for another two days and finally returned to a mountain village. Turi stayed there for another 5-6 days to observe the people and learn there language.
The people of this village are very poor. They make a living by hunting and foraging. They don't have any farmland at all.
The villages all seems to be normal humans. She didn't find any signs of any cultivator nearby. So she was a little confused about where all those corpses came from.
After 6 days Turi followed a group of villages to a nearby town which takes the villagers three days of walk to reach it. Turi stayed outside the town and observe the people's to learn the language and customs for another 14 days before returning to her mountain courtyard and stared preparing for leaving.
