Chapter 1 - The beginning

The night was too quiet.

The streets lay empty, stretching endlessly under dim lights, yet the air felt heavy, as if something unseen was pressing down on the world.

Deep within a forest on the outskirts of the city. A boy walked alone. His steps were slow. Uneven.

His eyes were dull, unfocused, like he wasn't fully aware of where he was going, or why. Yet his body kept moving.

As if something else was guiding it. Pulling him forward. A whisper echoed in his mind.

Soft.

Distant.

"…Come."

The boy's steps didn't stop. Didn't hesitate. The voice came again.

Clearer this time. Closer. "Come… closer… Kael…"

His breath hitched slightly. But he didn't question it. Couldn't. His body obeyed.

Far beyond the forest. On the outskirts of the city. Figures moved across rooftops at impossible speed.

Silent. Precise.

One by one, they leapt between buildings, cloaked in the darkness of the night.

A boy, around seventeen, with sharp white hair, landed at the front and raised his hand.

The group stopped instantly. His eyes scanned the horizon. Calm.....focused.

"We're getting close to Point Delta," he said. "The mountain is just ahead."

A faint crackle came through his earpiece. A young woman's voice responded, steady and composed:

"Confirmed. Vanguard units have already been deployed."

A pause.

"They're setting up the barrier now." The wind shifted.

The white-haired boy narrowed his eyes slightly."…Good," he muttered.

But something about the air felt off. Different. Like something had already begun. Back in the forest

The boy kept walking. Step by step. Until the trees began to thin.

An abandoned site stretched before him. Ruined structures. Cracked earth. Silence. For a moment…nothing happened. The sky split. A violent crack tore through the air, like reality itself had been ripped open.

The ground trembled. Then shattered. A massive rupture exploded upward. Something emerged. A Titan. Monstrous. Its body twisted and was unstable, as if it hadn't fully taken form. Jagged horns curved from its head, and a thick, dark substance like living slime dripped from its frame, hissing as it hit the ground.

But its presence alone warped the air at the edge of the site. Two figures landed hard.

A boy and a girl. Without hesitation, both slammed their hands against the ground.

"Barrier deployment now!" Energy surged outward. A pulse of light expanded rapidly from beneath them, forming a massive dome that swallowed the entire area in seconds.

The girl spoke urgently into her earpiece:

"We're setting the barrier....Titan has appeared at Delta."

A pause.

Then, louder. "I repeat....Titan confirmed at Delta!" The barrier is locked in place.

A low hum filled the air as it stabilized. The boy lifted his head slightly, eyes fixed on the Titan.

He tapped his earpiece."…It hasn't fully awakened yet," he said, voice low. A brief silence followed.

"…First one in ten years."

The words carried weight inside the barrier. The boy stood alone. Facing it.

The Titan's massive head shifted. It stopped. Locked onto him.

BAM!

Gunfire shattered the silence.

Bullets tore through the air, slamming into the Titan's massive frame.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

The soldiers had arrived.

They moved fast, precisely, coordinated spreading out as they opened fire without hesitation.

Sparks and dark fluid burst from the Titan's body as the rounds connected. A figure leapt forward. Landing on a tree branch with perfect balance.

The white-haired leader. His sharp eyes scanned the battlefield in an instant. "…There's someone here." His voice cut through the chaos.

"A human inside the barrier?!" Every soldier turned. Their eyes locked onto Kael. Standing there alone.

A sharp static crackled through their earpieces. Then A voice.

"Negative." A pause, the scanning beam intensified. "We're detecting high hybrid energy."

Even the gunfire felt distant for a second.

"…What?" one soldier muttered. "That's impossible he's just standing there" The leader's gaze narrowed.

Locked onto Kael. Studying him carefully. "…No," he said quietly."…That energy isn't normal."

The Titan twitched, its massive head shifting slowly again. Deliberately. Ignoring the soldiers. Ignoring the bullets. Locked onto Kael. The ground cracked beneath it. One step. Then another.

Each movement is heavier than the last. "Why isn't it reacting to us?!" someone shouted. "We're hitting it directly!"

The leader's expression hardened.

"…Because we're not its target." The Titan lunged.

Then bam, darkness.

Everything went black. Silence, endless.

Empty. "Wake." The voice struck like thunder.

"Wake!"

Kael's eyes snapped open. His body jerked upward. Air rushed into his lungs as if he had been drowning. Beep… Beep… Beep…

A sharp, rhythmic sound filled the room. His vision blurred. White, too bright. He blinked, slowly. The ceiling came into focus.

Cold lights. Still, unfamiliar "…Where…?"

His voice was dry, weak. He shifted slightly. Pain shot through his body. Enough to make him freeze "…Tch…" The beeping continued. Steady, alive. Kael's eyes moved around the room.

White walls, machines.Wires connected to his body. A hospital. His breathing slowed. But something felt… off. "…What happened…?"

He tried to remember. The night, the forest, the voice, the Titan. His eyes widened slightly. But then nothing. A blank. "…What…?" His brows furrowed.

He pushed himself slightly. Trying harder. Forcing it, but the more he tried to remember. The more it slipped away. Like it was never there.

"…I can't… remember.." A faint headache pulsed behind his eyes. Not strong, but strange. Like something was… missing. Then, the door clicked.
