The silence in the courtyard grew heavier.
Lancelot raised his head and looked directly at Saber.
"You carried everything alone," he said. "You never relied on anyone."
Saber gripped her sword tightly.
"That is what a king must do."
"No," Lancelot replied. "That is why everything fell apart."
His words struck deeply.
Rin stepped forward.
"A king who denies their own past… is just running away."
Saber's breathing became uneven.
"I… only wanted a better future."
"But at the cost of everyone who believed in you?" Rin asked sharply.
Saber fell silent.
Lancelot continued.
"If you erase your reign… then what was the meaning of everything we fought for?"
Saber's hands trembled.
Memories flooded her mind—her knights, her battles, her sacrifices.
Were they all meaningless?
"No…" she whispered.
Rin softened her tone slightly.
"You don't need the Grail to fix the past," she said. "You need to accept it."
Lancelot bowed his head again.
"My King… your path was never wrong."
Tears formed in Saber's eyes, but she did not let them fall.
Slowly, she straightened her posture.
"…I see now."
She looked at Lancelot.
"Thank you."
Then she turned to Rin.
"I will no longer pursue the Grail to erase my past."
Kiritsugu's eyes widened slightly at her words.
Rin smiled faintly.
"Good. That saves me the trouble."
The atmosphere shifted.
Tension turned into anticipation.
Iskandar stepped forward, cracking his neck.
"Hahaha! Now that's settled, shall we move on?"
Gilgamesh smirked. "Finally, something entertaining."
Rin stepped back.
"Then let's begin," she said. "The final battle of the Holy Grail War."
The war that had lasted for days…
…would end tonight.
