[Scene 1: The New School Year]
A new semester began at To-Oh University. Light Yagami, the top student in Japan, walked across the campus with his usual calm expression. But inside, he was alert. The FBI agents were dead, and L was now silent. Too silent.
"Ryuk," Light muttered. "The game is changing. L knows Kira is a student. He's going to make a move soon."
[Scene 2: The Stranger Next to Him]
During the entrance ceremony, Light sat next to a strange young man. He had messy black hair, dark circles under his eyes, and a strange way of sitting. He looked exhausted, yet his eyes were sharp like a hawk's.
The young man leaned in closer, his voice a low, monotonous whisper. "You are Light Yagami, the one with the perfect scores, right?"
"Yes," Light replied, keeping his voice steady. "And you are?"
[Scene 3: The Shocking Revelation]
The young man stared at Light for a long moment, then spoke words that felt like a lightning strike.
"I am L."
Light's heart skipped a beat, but his face remained a mask of stone. Impossible! he thought. Why would he reveal himself now? In public?
"I suspect you might be Kira," the man continued, undisturbed. "I want to see how you react. If you kill me now, it proves you are Kira. If you don't, we can work together to find him."
[Scene 4: The Mind Game]
Light forced a small, polite smile. "That's a very creative joke. But if you really are L, I'd be honored to help the police. After all, Kira is a murderer, isn't he?"
Inside, Light was screaming. He's testing me! He's right here in front of me, but I can't kill him because I don't know his real name. This man is dangerous.
[Scene 5: The War Begins]
As they walked away from each other, both men had the same thought.
L: "Light Yagami... you didn't blink. Your heart rate didn't change. You are either innocent, or you are the most dangerous person I've ever met."
Light: "L... you came out of the shadows. You think you've trapped me, but you've just walked into your own grave. I will find your name, and I will erase you from this world."
