Chapter 4
Hidden Boss. The Boar Tyrant
Ethan had fought the black boar warriors within a small stretch of ground, barely a few dozen meters across. Because of that, gathering the loot afterward was simple.
After collecting everything, he opened his inventory and reviewed the results.
He had killed well over a hundred monsters, yet the whetstone drops were disappointing.
"More than a hundred kills. Only around thirty whetstones."
He shook his head.
"Terrible drop rate."
Ethan looked deeper down the trail.
The farther he walked, the more bones covered the ground. Skulls. Rib cages. Broken tusks. Evidence of constant slaughter.
That told him exactly where the nest waited.
Ahead.
He tightened his grip on the Dragon Slayer Blade and continued forward.
Each level in Divine Realm granted attribute points. When Ethan reached level two he received five.
Warriors relied on Strength above all else.
He had already invested every point there.
Five extra attack points looked insignificant. With Tenfold Critical and Sword Mastery multiplying the damage, the increase became meaningful.
Divine Realm simulated combat through a powerful engine. Damage was not only numbers. Movement, impact, and precision mattered.
With higher attack power, Ethan's strikes cut through monsters far more efficiently.
He pushed deeper toward the nest.
Boar warriors fell one after another beneath the Dragon Slayer Blade.
Thirty minutes later another enemy collapsed.
605 damage flashed above its head.
The monster dropped instantly.
System notification.

Ethan glanced at the title.
It meant little to him.
He would never return to this low level hunting ground.
He began gathering the remaining loot.
You obtained Whetstone ×1.
You obtained 1 copper coin.
A moment later another system message appeared.
Quest complete.
100 whetstones collected.
Return to Master Aldric Vayne in Beginner Village.
Ethan checked his inventory.
The total had reached one hundred twenty.
During the hunt he had also reached level three.
He stretched his shoulders and wiped blood from the Dragon Slayer Blade.
There was no reason to stay in this filthy place.
He turned toward the path leading back to the village.
Then a furious roar erupted behind him.
Ethan stopped.
He turned slowly.
A massive boar monster stood in the distance.
It towered over the others. Thick muscles twisted beneath its skin. Its tusks were cracked from countless battles.
Two streams of blood flowed from its eyes like tears.
System alert.
You have slaughtered too many boar warriors.
The Boar Tyrant has been enraged.
Temporary quest triggered.

"I accept."
Ethan answered instantly.

Description
Mutated through prolonged exposure to Dragon Breath Crystals.
Ethan focused on the final line.
Dragon Breath Crystals.
In Divine Realm this material was extremely valuable.
Unlike other enhancement resources, Dragon Breath Crystals had a single effect.
Increase weapon attack by ten percent.
For weak weapons the increase was small.
For legendary weapons with tens of thousands of attack power, ten percent became massive.
Even more important, these crystals were almost impossible to obtain.
Outside the Black Abyss region most deposits had already been exhausted.
In Ethan's previous life a single crystal sold for more than one hundred million gold coins.
Even then supply barely existed.
Ethan smiled slightly.
"I did not expect this here."
He drew the Dragon Slayer Blade and advanced.
The Boar Tyrant roared and charged.
Its speed exploded forward.
The monster had activated Boar Charge.
Ethan stepped sideways and avoided the attack by a hair.
His blade flashed.
Slash.
System notification.
Slow effect triggered.
Movement speed reduced by 50 percent.
Attack speed reduced by 50 percent.
Reaction speed reduced by 50 percent.
Ethan's eyes brightened.

He attacked immediately.

412 damage.
414 damage.
Within three seconds the boss monster's health dropped below twenty percent.
Then the slow effect ended.
Red light burst from the Boar Tyrant's body.
System alert.
Boar Tyrant HP below 20 percent.
Berserk activated.
Movement speed increased by 50 percent.
Attack increased by 50 percent.
Defense increased by 50 percent.
Toughness increased by 50 percent.
Duration one minute.
Ethan stepped back at once.
Fighting a berserk boss directly would be reckless.
But something unexpected happened.
Instead of attacking, the Boar Tyrant turned and ran.
Straight toward its nest.
Ethan's expression sharpened.
It intended to recover.
He chased immediately.
The monster ran with explosive speed, its massive body tearing through the air like a charging tank.
Ethan could not close the gap right away, but he kept the distance steady.
Boar warriors rushed in to protect their leader.
They died instantly.
Slash.
605 damage.
Another monster collapsed.
Ethan continued the pursuit.
Soon the Boar Tyrant reached its nest.
A huge cavern appeared ahead.
The entrance was narrow, forcing the creature to squeeze through.
Inside the cavern opened into a massive chamber.
System notification.
New location discovered.
Boar Tyrant Nest.
Reputation increased by 100.
A second message appeared.
Hidden resource discovered.
Dragon Breath Crystal Mine.
Reputation increased by 100.
Ethan looked toward the center of the cavern.
The Boar Tyrant lay across a mound of glowing red crystals.
Dragon Breath Crystals.
Energy waves flowed through the creature as its health rapidly recovered.
Ethan's eyes hardened.
"No chance."
He rushed forward.
The Dragon Slayer Blade slashed toward the monster's neck.
The Boar Tyrant roared and bit toward him.
Ethan dropped low and slipped beneath the attack.
Then he drove the blade upward.
Straight into the exposed belly.
315 damage.
System notification.
Slow effect triggered.
Movement speed reduced by 50 percent.
Attack speed reduced by 50 percent.
Ethan attacked without pause.
315 damage.
316 damage.
317 damage.
The monster's health collapsed.
Seconds later the Boar Tyrant released a final scream and crashed to the ground.
The remaining boar warriors scattered in terror.
System notification.
Boss defeated.
Bronze Boss Boar Tyrant killed.
Temporary quest completed.
First kill reward granted.
Rewards
2000 experience
5 luck points
5 skill points
Ethan exhaled slowly.
After constant combat and pursuit, even he felt the strain.
He rested briefly before approaching the corpse.
Loot notifications appeared.
Boar Tyrant Fang ×2 obtained.
5 silver coins obtained.
Dragon Breath Crystal ×30 obtained.
Bronze Equipment Chest ×1 obtained.
Ethan stared at the crystals.
Thirty of them.
In the future each crystal would sell for one hundred million gold coins.
Three billion in total value.
Of course he could not sell them yet.
Players needed access to the main cities before trading became possible.
Even so, the reward was enormous.
Yet the reward that excited Ethan most was something else.
Five points of Luck.
Luck affected many hidden systems.
Drop rates.
Treasure chests.
Equipment enhancement success.
Luck was one of the rarest attributes in the entire game.
Any item that increased luck by five points could sell for hundreds of millions in the auction house.
Ethan had just gained it for free.
A massive profit.
