Three Level Surge. The Dragon Slayer Blade Evolves.
Before Ethan Quinn stepped out of the house, Master Aldric Vayne suddenly called out to him.
The old swordsman had been admiring the Dragon Breath Crystal for several minutes, turning it under the light like a priceless treasure.
"Young man," Aldric said. "Come visit again when you have time. I am not interested in the treasures you carry. I simply enjoy your company."
Ethan turned back with a faint smile and nodded.
"I will keep that in mind."
Aldric stroked his beard and added quickly, "And if you happen to find more treasures like this one in the future, remember me first. We are friends now. Friends should help each other."
Ethan understood the meaning immediately.
He hid his amusement.
"Of course, Master Aldric. If I find something similar, you will be the first to know."
"Good. Very good." Aldric waved him off. "I will not keep you any longer. Go."
The tone sounded like a dismissal, but the hostility from earlier had disappeared.
After leaving the swordsman's home, Ethan walked away from the busy square until he found a quiet area behind several storage buildings.
No players nearby.
Perfect.
He opened his inventory and removed one of the rewards.
A high tier skill book.
Flying Immortal.
Without hesitation, he activated it.
A notification appeared.
You used the High Tier Skill Book Flying Immortal.
You learned the skill Flying Immortal. Level 1.
Ethan did not even bother opening the skill window yet.
Instead he immediately spent the five Skill Points he had gained from the first kill reward.

Level 4.

Level 6.
Another notification appeared.

Ethan nodded slightly.
This skill filled a major weakness in his build.
With his Tenfold Critical talent and the Dragon Slayer Blade, his single target damage was already terrifying.
But he lacked wide area attacks.
Before this, he had to kill enemies one at a time.
Flying Immortal solved that problem instantly.
Now large groups of monsters would be far easier to handle.
After reviewing the skill, Ethan took out the next reward.
A scabbard.

Special Effects
Repairs the blade stored inside it and restores durability slowly over time.
Increases stamina by 20 percent.
Increases movement speed by 20 percent.
Ethan examined it carefully and nodded in approval.
The scabbard did not increase damage.
But its value was enormous.
The Dragon Slayer Blade was his core weapon.
And like all weapons, it would lose durability with use.
Normally that meant constant repairs.
But with Aldric's Scabbard, the blade could recover durability automatically.
After combat he only needed to sheath the weapon and wait.
It was a perfect companion item.
Ethan stored the scabbard.
Then he pulled out the Dragon Slayer Blade.
Next he opened his inventory again.
Thirty swords appeared beside him.
These were the blades he had just received from Aldric.
Without hesitation he activated the Dragon Slayer Blade's Devour ability.
One sword after another dissolved into glowing fragments and flowed into the black blade.
Bronze sword.
Silver sword.
Gold sword.
Each weapon became nourishment.
Minutes passed.
The final blade vanished.
A notification exploded across Ethan's vision.
Growth Weapon Evolution Successful.
Dragon Slayer Blade has advanced from Black Iron Rank to Gold Rank.
The weapon suddenly erupted with brilliant multicolored light.
Energy pulsed through the blade.
The glow faded slowly.
The newly evolved weapon floated before Ethan.
He reached forward and gripped the hilt.
The difference was obvious immediately.
Sharper.
Heavier.
More powerful.
Ethan swung the blade through the air.
A sharp crack split the air as the sword cut forward.
Satisfied, he took out the remaining Dragon Breath Crystal.
The crystal shattered in his hand.
Red mist flowed into the blade.
The weapon absorbed it instantly.

Description
A growth weapon with limitless potential.
Ethan looked at the blade shining with cold light.
A satisfied smile appeared.
The thirty swords he sacrificed could have been sold for a large fortune.
Most players would never destroy equipment worth that much.
But Ethan did not hesitate.
For him, strengthening the Dragon Slayer Blade mattered far more than gold.
Growth weapons had no level limit.
As long as they continued absorbing resources, they could evolve endlessly.
In theory they could even become divine artifacts.
In the previous timeline, true God Tier weapons were controlled by the strongest monsters in the world.
Human players never possessed one.
Not even when Divine Realm merged with reality.
But things were different now.
Ethan Quinn held a weapon with the potential to reach that level.
And this time, the future would belong to him.
