I opened the pot and served myself some bibimbap
Dropping the pot, I picked up my utensils and started eating
I almost groaned in delight at the taste of the food
I hadn't eaten anything at all since yesterday
Suddenly I heard footsteps
I glanced In the direction and saw Bo-Na walking towards the dining table wearing a white uniform and black mini skirt with black flat shoes
"Mom, Dad" Bo-Na said as she smiled
"Oh, you're looking so pretty" Sun-Hee said, gushing all over Bo-Na
"Come and sit down, your mom prepared your favourite food" Sung-Ho said with a smile
I rolled my eyes and continued eating
Bo-Na glanced at me then turned her gaze to Sun-Hee, exchanging glances with each other
After a while
I dropped my utensils as I stood up
"I'm done mom, I'm off to school" I said indifferently as I started waking away
"Wait a second" Sun-Hee said anxiously
I glanced at her with raised brows
"I want you to quit school" Sun-Hee said coldly
I froze in place
"Excuse me?!" I asked in disbelief
"Didn't you hear what your mother said, we want you to quit school" Sung-Ho said in annoyance
"And why should I..., just because you guys said so" I asked mockingly
"Yes, and your sister needs to attend school too. We can't afford to pay for both of you at the same time" Sun-Hee said righteously
I looked at her with narrowed eyes
"Has old age started catching up to you, or is my memory failing me? Because if I remember correctly… I'm on a scholarship, so you're not paying a dime for my schooling" I said indifferently.
"You... Are you insulting me" Sun-Hee screamed shrilly
"No, I'm just stating facts" I said as I crossed my arms
"You..." Sun-Hee said as she pointed at me
"It doesn't matter, you're quitting school whether you like it or not" Sung-Ho said in a final tone
I glanced at them with disdain
"And what makes you think I will listen to you or did you fall on your head yesterday so you think that whatever you tell me to do, I will do it" I said
"You....., stop making things difficult for mom and dad Nari and just...." Bo-Na said anxiously
I turned my gaze towards her, my eyes devoid of any emotion
Bo-Na froze in feae the instant her eyes met mine, my deadly gaze silencing her completely
"You have to stop school. You know how bad our situation is… and Bo-Na will be starting college soon. We can't afford everything, so we need you to work and help the family. School would only distract you anyway" Sung-Ho said, his face softened with false concern.
"I never knew that I had a child I had to take care of" I said mockingly
"What do you mean" Sun-Hee asked with furrowed brows
"Let me be clear—I didn't give birth to Bo-Na, so she's not my responsibility. Your choices are your problem, not mine" I said, my tone sharp.
"Because as far as I'm concerned, you didn't ask for my help when you guys were fucking each other, neither was I the one being fucked so please own up to your responsibility" I ended coldly.
"Watch your mouth you stupid brat" Mom shouted as she blushed furiously.
