Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: The Training Camp (The Survival Patch)

The transition from the Ninth Dive (Melee Mastery) to the Tenth Dive—The Frontier of the Void—was the most violent "System Update" Kenji had ever experienced.

To prepare for the Forest Training Camp, Kenji knew that the threat profile was shifting. He was no longer fighting in controlled alleys or urban arenas; he was heading into the wild. He needed the Space-Marine Logic: overwhelming firepower, high-altitude mobility, and the "Rip and Tear" endurance of a survivor.

The Tenth Dive: The Frontier of the Void

(Halo + Mass Effect + Starfield + Doom Eternal: Complete Edition)

In this Dive, Kenji didn't just play a character; he lived through the extinction and rebirth of galaxies.

* From Halo: He underwent the Spartan-II Augmentation Protocol. In the simulation, his bones were coated in ceramic and his neural pathways were rewired for millisecond reaction times. He gained the Mjolnir Shield Logic, a regenerative energy barrier that protected his "Health Bar" from chip damage.

* From Mass Effect: He mastered Biotics. By manipulating "Element Zero" in his virtual blood, he could create micro-singularities, throw enemies with gravitational force, and warp the molecular structure of armor.

* From Starfield: He gained Astrodynamics and Resourcefulness. He learned to "Scan" environments for chemical compositions, crafting ammunition and stimulants from nothing but dirt and oxygen.

* From Doom Eternal: He unlocked the Slayer's Will. This was the "Berserker" patch. It introduced the Blood Punch and the Dash Refill—a logic where aggression was the only form of defense. If he was moving and killing, he was invincible.

When the bus pulled up to the Pussycat's mountain lookout, Kenji stepped off, and the air around him seemed to hum with the static of a vacuum.

Part I: The Forest of Beasts

The Pussycats—Pixie-Bob and Mandalay—didn't give the students time to breathe. Pixie-Bob used her Earth Flow quirk to create massive, lumbering dirt beasts.

"If you don't reach the camp by lunch, you don't eat!" she chirped.

While the rest of Class 1-A struggled, Kenji's Focus HUD—now upgraded to the Frontier Scan—highlighted the beasts' structural weaknesses.

"Focus fire on the joints," Kenji commanded, his voice carrying the authority of a Commander. "Momo, I need high-velocity projectiles. Bakugo, don't just blast them—aim for the internal core."

Kenji didn't use a sword this time. He raised his hand, and a blue field of Biotic energy swirled around his palm.

"WARP."

The molecular bonds of the dirt beast in front of him simply unraveled. It didn't break; it disintegrated into dust. Kenji then performed a Bullet Jump (Warframe logic) merged with a Double Dash (Doom logic), appearing on the back of a second beast. He slammed his fist into its head.

[ACTIVATING: BLOOD PUNCH]

A shockwave of red energy exploded from his knuckles, shattering the earth-beast from the inside out.

"Mizunashi's on a different level," Kaminari gasped, dodging a stone claw. "He's moving like he has thrusters in his shoes!"

By the time they reached the camp, the rest of the class was collapsed in the dirt. Kenji stood perfectly still, his Spartan Armor Logic having already replenished his stamina. He looked at the forest, his HUD tagging every bird, every leaf, and every potential "Enemy Spawn."

Part II: Interactions by the Fire

That night, as they cooked curry, the tension of the "System" began to soften into human interaction. Kenji sat by the fire, sharpening a hunting knife he'd crafted using Nephilim Forge.

"Mizunashi-kun," Midoriya said, sitting down next to him with his notebook. "The way you used that gravity field... it didn't feel like the 'Void' from the Sports Festival. It felt... denser."

"It's a different engine, Izuku," Kenji said, not looking up. "The Void is a vacuum. This new power—Biotics—is about mass. It's about making things so heavy they collapse, or so light they float away. It's about controlling the 'Code' of gravity itself."

"You talk like you're not even from this world sometimes," Shoto Todoroki remarked, sitting on the other side of the fire.

Kenji paused. He looked at Todoroki. "In a way, I'm not. My grandfather gave me the 'Source Code' of a thousand worlds that were lost when Quirks appeared. I've seen stars die, Shoto. I've seen civilizations rise and fall in the 'Dives.' Compared to that, this camp is just... a tutorial."

"A tutorial?" Bakugo spat, walking past them. "Keep acting like a protagonist, Glitch-Boy. I'm going to be the one who clears the final level."

Kenji watched him go. His Detective's Mind (Drive 8) saw the insecurity beneath Bakugo's rage—a "Status Ailment" that hadn't been patched yet.

Part III: The Vanguard Action Squad Attack

The third night was when the "Main Quest" began. The blue flames of Dabi roared through the trees, and the gas of Mustard choked the air.

Kenji was with Pixie-Bob when the first strike happened. Magne's magnetic pull and Spinner's blade swung in.

[WARNING: AMBUSH DETECTED]

[INITIATING: THE SLAYER PROTOCOL]

Kenji didn't wait for orders. He grabbed a piece of scrap metal from the camp's cooking area. Using Starfield's Modding Logic, he instantly transmuted it into a makeshift Plasma Rifle.

"Mandalay! Use your telepathy!" Kenji shouted. "Tell everyone: Do not engage in groups! The villains are targeting individuals! They are 'Hunting'!"

Kenji dashed into the forest. He saw Kota, the small boy who hated heroes, cornered by a massive, muscular man with prosthetic eyes. Muscular.

> TARGET: Muscular

> QUIRK: Muscle Augmentation

> LOGIC: High Defense / High Physical DPS

> STRATEGY: Kinetic Overload

>

Muscular lunged, his muscle fibers bursting through his skin. "I just want to see your guts, kid!"

Kenji didn't use a shield. He used Biotics.

"SINGULARITY."

A black hole the size of a marble appeared in front of Muscular. The villain's massive weight was his undoing; the gravity well sucked his muscle fibers toward the center, twisting his limbs into an unnatural knot.

"What is this!?" Muscular roared, trying to pull away.

Kenji didn't stop. He switched to Doom Eternal Logic. He performed a Meat Hook—launching a mana-chain into Muscular's chest and pulling himself forward at Mach 1.

"RIP AND TEAR."

Kenji delivered a Blood Punch directly into Muscular's solar plexus, infused with Solar Energy from his Destiny archive. The resulting explosion of light and force knocked the villain through five trees, instantly dropping his "Health Bar" to zero.

Kenji landed, breathing heavily. He looked at Kota. "The game is real now, kid. You have to move."

Part IV: Defending the Students (The Vanguard Raid)

The forest was a maze of chaos. Kenji's Focus HUD was lighting up with distress signals.

* Tetsutetsu and Kendo were being suppressed by Mustard's gas.

* Tokoyami had lost control of Dark Shadow.

* Bakugo and Todoroki were being hunted by Moonfish.

Kenji tapped into his Halo: AI Integration. He didn't have a Cortana, but he had the Source Code Reconstruction of his grandfather. He projected a holographic map of the forest into the minds of Class 1-A (using a combination of Biotic pulses and Mandalay's telepathy).

"Iida! Use your engines to create a wind-funnel on the North side! Blow the gas back at Mustard!" Kenji commanded. "Momo! Create specialized gas masks with 'System Filters'! I'm going to the center to handle the 'Elite' spawns!"

Kenji arrived at the clearing where Moonfish—the tooth-bladed villain—was pinning Bakugo and Todoroki.

"Flesh... meat... beauties..." Moonfish hissed, his teeth extending like razors.

Kenji didn't draw a weapon. He stood in the center of the path and activated the Mass Effect: Tech Armor. A shimmering blue hexagonal cage of energy surrounded him.

"Moonfish," Kenji said, his voice cold. "You're a 'Legacy Boss' from a horror game. But I've mastered the 'Frontier'."

Kenji raised his hand, and a massive Orbital Strike (Starfield Logic) manifested as a pillar of pure Void light from the sky. It didn't hit Moonfish, but it created a massive electromagnetic pulse that "Scrambled" the villain's sense of direction.

In the confusion, Kenji performed a Glory Kill (non-lethal). He moved in a blur, snapping Moonfish's tooth-blades with his ceramic-coated hands and delivering a paralyzing "Quickhack" to the villain's spine.

"Bakugo! Todoroki! Get to the camp!" Kenji yelled.

"I don't take orders from—" Bakugo started.

"THIS ISN'T A CLASS!" Kenji roared, his eyes glowing with the fire of a Spartan. "THE VILLAIN 'MR. COMPRESS' IS CLOSING IN! HE'S A 'TRAP-TYPE' ENEMY! IF YOU STAY HERE, YOU'RE GONE!"

Bakugo flinched. He'd never seen Kenji this "Aggressive." He'd never seen the "Logic" of the world laid bare so violently.

Part V: The Loss and the Level-Up

Despite Kenji's efforts, the "Script" was fixed. Mr. Compress descended from the trees, turning Bakugo into a marble.

Kenji lunged, using Whirlwind Sprint merged with Blink. He was inches away from grabbing the marble, but Dabi stepped through a portal, his blue flames creating a "Boundary Wall" that even Kenji's shields couldn't penetrate.

"You're the one Shigaraki is worried about," Dabi said, his eyes cold. "The boy who thinks he can patch the world. Try patching this."

The portal closed. Bakugo was gone.

Kenji stood in the smoking remains of the forest. His HUD was blinking red.

[MISSION FAILED: PRIMARY TARGET CAPTURED]

[SYSTEM STATUS: CRITICAL FAILURE]

[NEW QUEST: THE KAMINO RAID]

[UNLOCKED: THE FINAL DRIVE — THE MULTIVERSE UNBOUND (ELDEN RING + BALDUR'S GATE 3 + THE WITCHER 3 + BLACK MYTH: WUKONG)]

Kenji fell to his knees, his hands digging into the scorched earth. He didn't cry. Instead, his internal menu began to scroll at a terrifying speed.

"System," Kenji whispered. "Delete the safety limiters. No more 'Dives.' No more 'Games.' I want the 'Developer Mode' unlocked."

[WARNING: BIOLOGICAL DELETION RISK AT 99%]

[DO YOU WISH TO PROCEED?]

"Proceed," Kenji hissed. "The tutorial is over."

Kenji's Training Camp Status Report

| Achievement | Reward | Effect |

|---|---|---|

| Slayer of the Forest | Blood Punch | Massive physical AOE on contact. |

| Biotically Gifted | Singularity | CC ability that ignores physical armor. |

| The Spartan's Burden | Armor Lock | Temporary invulnerability at the cost of mobility. |

The Hero Society was broken. The "System" was crashing. And Kenji Sato was about to become the "Final Update" that No One—not even All For One—could predict.
