the smell of the gutters surrounding the apartment building could be smelled from a million meters away, this was always common considering it was a lower tier city although compared to the sub tier city the tier 3 city was doing quite well.
mornings were always this way for Ling, he had gotten used to it considering he grew up in this shit-hole.
getting up from his bed almost as if an automatic clock was installed in his head which was new considering he would wake up almost totally late for and miss most of his classes for the day. getting up from his bed, he was greeted with a pop-up from the screen in his head.
it then dawned on him that all that happened yesterday till the morning was not a dream and then his mind went back to the night before and he remembered the men which he had killed
' I killed them, although I didn't technically do it and besides things like this happen all the time, they had it coming for them with all they be doing to me since I got here ' pacing quietly while actively pondering to himself, nothing was going to happen to him considering no body really paid attention to the issues of a lower tier city.
finally out of his self enclosed mind bubble, he looked at the quest update for the day and it was the weirdest of things to ever undertake and from the look of things, it would be repeating everyday for a very long time considering it was a daily quest.

seeing these he just brushed it away, although he didn't know what the consequences would be but he didn't want to find out he'd definitely do it later but not now, he had to focus on the more pressing matters which was attending classes for the day.
walking into the bathroom, it didn't take much time for him to return back to the living room, pacing around and picking up some clothes from around the floor while putting them on and walking towards the door and picking his bag on the way.
shutting the door behind him, he walked down the stairs.
due to the incident from last night, he didn't want to be seen with the hoodie he wore the previous day, in case someone spotted him or anything it would be an easier method to guise himself considering he was hooded all through the altercation.
he decided to start out any of the quest he could while on his way to school and the best fit for it was the walking for 1000 meters, with each step he took he could see a meter counting to meet up the stipulated distance required.
in the haste and heat of the moment he didn't notice the girl walking towards him and he accidentally bumped into her making her drop almost everything she had in her hands .
" ohhh, I'm so sorry I didn't see you there. let me help you with that " he bent down to help her with her stuff which she had dropped
" It's fine actually I'm sorry I didn't really see you there I was quite carried away and wasn't really seeing you too so I guess it's both our faults. the names lilith, lilith eden" smiling as she ended her little talk
"I don't think I've ever seen you around here before" he stated looking at her for a brief moment before shifting his gaze away from her
" yeah, I actually moved in last night I hope this place is good tho, I wouldn't want to move again due to any reason " she looked away in time to prevent their gaze from meeting
" tho I've lived here all my life, I don't really have anything to say about this place, welcome to your nightmare " saying those last words in a spooky way as he dashed off to school
lilith was an elegant girl with short black hair and brown eyes tho she was pale and resembled someone from the north
looking at the boy who was dashing away in a jiffy, there was something off about him but he definitely wasn't her mission here although she wasn't one to shy away from her curiosity, shed definitely figure out what's with the boy, but for now shed just stay on the course of her mission.
on his way to school since he decided to walk all the way to school in the quest to complete his mission he passed by the site of the yester-night altercation and to his surprise he didn't see any bodies a all which he was fine with, so far as no body was found nobody would be on alert.

campus was really rowdy especially for the final year like ling who'd soon be sent to military service.
everyone carried bout their business quietly especially ling who took the slightest opportunity to complete the mission the system gave to him.
an assessment was scheduled for 1pm and they all had to be present. as soon as 12;30 everyone was already making their way to the auditorium.
while walking towards the hallway he noticed someone with black short hair
' that has to be eden, what kind of a fool forgets to give his name to someone that beautiful' silently thinking was he walked over to her and patted her shoulder
" oh hi Eden , I don know if you'd remember me considering I forgot to give you my name earlier " a whipp of shyness was on his face
" the names ling , ling dee " he stated as he offered to help her with her bag
" well thank you ling , I didn't know you go here I'm guessing you're a finalist too meaning were gonna be classmates " she sternly stated as they walked into the auditorium and taking their seats next to each other
" well considering your guess was right , how're you here? you're a finalist too so why not just wait till after your final days before going for military service? why'd you transfer institutions ? " looking to her sternly as he asked a barricade of questions.
" well slow down, I moved due to insecurity in my previous city and I had to change institution as well, I couldn't possibly wait a day before leaving " she smiled
" well it think we should pay attention to what's happening, these are always the peek times those two are definitely gonna fight with the building tension I'm certain" ling whispered
in a little distance two students could be seen engaging in heated argument and it was sure to turn into a fight in no time
' I guess the spell is already working then ' a smile appeared on her face
