Chapter 52 - I Have a Big Business Deal

When they reached the final line "contact Penguin Logistics for details" they almost smashed the phone in their hands.

Luckily, Shirou quickly stopped them, saving his phone from a lifespan of only one month.

"No need to smash the phone… phones are expensive."

Shirou carefully put it away and lectured them.

"Sorry, sorry, we got a bit carried away."

Sora apologized, and the others also sincerely followed.

"It's just that getting cut off right at the good part is super annoying."

Croissant, who had almost punched the phone flat, said.

"Like opening a box of Pocky and finding they are all broken."

Texas, who had almost sliced the phone in half, added.

"Like biting into an apple pie and finding there's no apples, only apple paste."

Exusiai, who had nearly shot a hole through the phone, said.

"Croissant and Texas barely pass… but Exusiai, yours just sounds like something that personally annoys you, doesn't it?"

Shirou smacked Exusiai on the head with a hand chop.

"Ow! Shirou, are you targeting me?!"

Holding her head, Exusiai complained. She felt like Shirou always picked on her and Croissant, especially her.

"Before thinking I'm targeting you, maybe reflect on yourself first?"

Shirou pressed both fists against either side of Exusiai's head and applied a bit of force.

"I was wrong, I was wrong! My fault! My head's getting squished—let go already!!"

Feeling pressure from both sides of her head, Exusiai immediately surrendered.

"If you do not mess around, nothing happens. Why don't you get that, Exusai?"

Croissant munched on a chicken wing while watching the scene like entertainment.

"I think you just barely escaped this time."

Watching Croissant treat the situation like dinner theater, Sora could already imagine her future fate under Shirou's "care."

In Penguin Logistics, only Exusiai and Croissant dared to mess with Shirou like this. Texas simply did not bother, and Sora herself could not act that freely.

Honestly, she was a bit envious of that kind of interaction.

She could behave like that with the others but not with Shirou.

Maybe because he usually acted as a caretaker… or maybe because he was a man?

"By the way, Shirou—this 'ability' Yith mentioned… what is it?"

Texas asked, recalling the evaluation.

Besides curiosity, she also needed to understand their team's new combat strength.

She knew Shirou could harden objects using those patterns but how did that translate into both close-range and long-range combat?

Should it not be more defensive, like Croissant?

"That? Oh right, I should explain it to you guys."

Shirou released Exusiai and took a step back from everyone.

"Trace on—"

The same words as before but this time, his hands were empty.

As his voice fell, a pair of black-and-white blades 'Kanshou and Bakuya' appeared in his hands.

"Praise be to Laterano above!"

"Refined Lungmen profanity"

"Elegant Siracusan swearing"

"???"

Exusiai and Croissant instantly burst out with expletives.

Texas's fur bristled slightly.

Sora… just looked completely confused.

"Why are you all so shocked?"

Even Shirou was startled by their reaction.

When he showed it to Is before, the reaction was not this extreme.

"Ahem… mainly because it's shocking. The contrast is too strong."

Exusiai rubbed the spot where she had just been hit, feeling like life had become way more eventful ever since they picked Shirou up.

"Agreed."

Texas smoothed down her fur, eyes fixed on the twin blades.

The moment she saw them, she felt danger. If the one holding them were not Shirou, she might have already drawn her Originium sword.

"For once, I completely agree with Exusai."

Croissant patted her chest.

"Isn't the bigger question where the swords came from?"

Sora, still startled earlier, found the whole "suddenly conjuring swords" thing pretty fascinating.

The group gathered around, inspecting the blades up close, touching them and examining them carefully.

Shirou felt like he had just seen this exact scene at Yith's place earlier.

"Can I try holding them?"

Texas asked, touching one of the black blades.

"Sure, but be careful."

Shirou handed one over, reminding her to be cautious.

He was not worried about her getting hurt but more about her accidentally destroying the furniture.

If she was interested, he even had some "empty shells" of weapons in his room that could be used as decorations.

"Mm…"

Texas took the blade and swung it a few times. It felt great but since she was not familiar with this type of weapon she could only manage basic swings.

Even so, she could clearly tell how sharp and high-quality it was.

"Oh my god… this is insane."

Exusiai was still stunned, Shirou had basically pulled weapons out of thin air completely breaking her understanding of reality.

"Shirou… the tools on your desk in your room… are those made with your ability too?"

Croissant's eyes lit up as she recalled the weapons in Shirou's room.

She could already see the road to riches!

"Those are just for practice. Why?"

Shirou dismissed the remaining blade and answered.

"Croissant, you are not thinking…"

Sora immediately sensed what Croissant was about to suggest.

"I have a big business idea to discuss with you, Shirou! Let's split it 70-30, me 70 and you…wait! Let go of my horns! Do not pull outward! It hurts, it hurts, it hurts!!"

Before she could finish, Shirou grabbed her horns.

He really did not expect this "bread person" to try turning his Projection Magecraft into a business.

"They can last a long time, but if they are damaged, they disappear, so they cannot be sold!"

Shirou loosened his grip slightly but still held her horns as he explained.

"Got it, got it! Let go already! My horns are gonna break!"

Croissant perfectly demonstrated to Sora that karma never fails, it just arrives a bit late.
