"It's not entirely hopeless…" Sean Quinn quickly comforted her. "I've heard that in addition to their personal files in the system, every undercover agent is issued a key. It opens a safe deposit box exclusively assigned to them at the National Archives Center. The key is the only credential needed to open the box. However, to prevent the materials inside from being destroyed, the key holder must apply to the relevant departments and can only open it in the presence of supervising officials. Plus, the key can only be used once, so there's no chance of anyone swapping out the files."
This was an unusually strict requirement.
"So, the key is the crucial part?" In Stella Lockwood's memory, however, she had never seen any kind of special key.
"Mhm."
"Okay. I'll go through my dad's belongings again carefully later."
