"I'm sorry."
She suddenly jumped off the bed and bowed to her in apology.
Stella Lockwood was so startled she took two steps back. "What on earth are you playing at? There's a limit to how weird you can be... If you keep acting this bizarre, I'm leaving..."
She was afraid the girl was trying to stir up trouble. Right now, she was exhausted and just wanted to get some proper rest.
"Sister, I know I was wrong." Rhea Vaughn suddenly grabbed her hand and said softly, "You and I were just kids, but I blamed you for my father's death. Ten years ago, you were only twelve—just a kid yourself. After experiencing a car crash like that, you didn't get the comfort you deserved. Instead, you took all the blame and criticism. That was so unfair to you..."
Huh...
Stella Lockwood's eyes widened in disbelief. To think these words were actually coming from Rhea Vaughn... It was completely surreal...
"You don't have a fever, do you..." She reached out and gently felt the girl's forehead.
