Sean Quinn dashed to the dining room and found Rhea Vaughn collapsed on the floor, her small face smeared with blood from her nose. She was unconscious.
He went over to check on her, then picked her up and carried her to the sofa.
"What's wrong?" Morton Grant came running downstairs, arriving just in time to see the scene. He asked nervously, "Should we take her to the hospital?"
Before Sean Quinn could answer, his phone rang. He stepped away, letting Stella Lockwood tend to Rhea Vaughn—the call was from Reaper Yates.
"Sean Quinn, the boss wanted me to pass on a message."
"Spit it out."
"You may have rescued Rhea Vaughn, but I'm afraid she won't live long in your care. Why don't you send her back?"
Sean Quinn's breath caught. "What do you mean?"
Reaper Yates replied calmly, "Rhea Vaughn was injected with a biological agent for which there is no antidote on the market. Only we have it... According to our timeline, she should have fallen into a coma by now..."
