"Phoebe! Phoebe! Phoebe! Where are you? Get out of my way! I need to find my little sis!" Early that morning, Phoebe Faulkner was jolted awake by Lionel Faulkner's booming shouts from outside her door.
She opened her eyes to see Jace Lennox's handsome face, just inches away.
Seeing she was awake, Jace Lennox patted her head. "Go back to sleep. I'll go see what's happening."
Phoebe Faulkner sleepily raised her wrist to check the time. It was just after five in the morning.
"Phoebe, where are you!" Lionel's voice drifted in again. No matter how tired she was, Phoebe knew she couldn't go back to sleep. Just as Jace was about to get up, she reached out and grabbed him. "I'll go. He won't stop until he sees me."
Jace turned and looked back at her as she yawned.
"Alright."
In the end, they both got up and went out together.
