Even though Apex hadn't officially resumed business for the year, it didn't mean Preston Keaton's workload was any lighter.
There were meetings to hold, official functions to attend, company decisions that required his final approval, and banquets he had to personally appear at.
Even at home, he spent most of his time in his study.
Preston Keaton smiled. "It's all arranged. What are you worried about?"
Evelyn Grant's voice was muffled against his chest. "I'm worried you won't be able to make money."
"Even if I couldn't make any money, I'd still have more than enough to provide for you." He lowered his head, his voice gentle. "But we can only stay in Frosk for three days. Will you be angry?"
Those three days were likely all he could squeeze out of his hectic schedule. Evelyn Grant was hardly going to be angry. She tilted her head up, kissed him on the lips, and shook her head.
"Of course not. I'm thrilled."
