She exchanged a look with her husband.
Tripp Jennings patted her shoulder. "Don't be afraid. This is our turf. No matter how capable this woman is, she can't escape. She's destined to fall into our hands."
He had to admit, the woman was certainly formidable, but that was all there was to it.
'If this were out in the open, she might've actually escaped. But this is the Sanctyrlands. This is my turf. If I let her get away, how could I ever show my face again? How could Sanctyr Base show its face?'
At this thought, he shot a look of appreciation at the scrawny man. He hadn't expected this; he'd underestimated him.
'For him to be able to capture such a formidable woman… he must've been hiding his true strength.'
'He'd really made me see him in a new light this time.'
Unfortunately, the scrawny man was unconscious and had no idea what was going through Tripp Jennings's mind.
If he knew, he would have just found it baffling, because even he had no idea what was going on.
