After two breaks, the group of five to six hundred had finally cleared all three terminals.
Mentally exhausted, the group returned to Terminal Three to find Flora Bloom resting in a chair with her eyes closed. Across from her, Rita was curled up in another chair, her face a mask of grievance, her eyes brimming with tears.
Only when she saw the group return did she blink and wipe the tears from the corners of her eyes.
Lex Cross walked over to Flora Bloom, but just as he was about to sit down, Rita suddenly shot up and threw herself into his arms.
Shawn Hale froze where he stood.
Caleb Bloom and Jade also stood frozen, unsure how to react.
Everyone stared, baffled by Rita's sudden move. They all turned to look at Shawn Hale, whose face had turned ashen.
Flora Bloom saw the icy glare in Lex Cross's eyes, yet he didn't immediately push her away. Instead, he spoke.
"Nina?"
Hearing Lex Cross say her name, she was overcome with joy and clung to him, crying even harder.
