Raya's POV
Time doesn't fly as quickly as watching your life waste by and doing nothing about it. You get the certain feeling that you aren't doing something right, something that could change your whole trajectory but all the while, you keep your hands to yourself.
This was the exact type of feeling I had listening to Marcus as he stepped foot into my office, dusting his shirt cautiously and holding up a folder between his fingers. He pressed them against his stomach and stopped a few inches from my desk.
"Good day, ma'am," he greeted, setting his eyes on the empty sheet of paper I had laid down on my table.
"Marcus, you were supposed to be here an hour ago." I leaned back on my chair and breathed heavily.
"My apologies ma'am, I got caught up. The beast is not exactly fun to work with," he whispered.
"Stop giving me excuses!" I banged my hand against my table.
