Chapter 79 - CHAPTER EIGHTY

Aaron was just glad that the worst was over. They had left last year in last year, and could finally see improvement in his daughter's condition, which was great. "I had the best time here. We should do this more often." Elena said as they prepared to leave the resort, sitting in the lounge. "We shall, my love. Where would you like to go? I'll take you to any corner of the world you want to go to." Aaron said, side hugging his big bellied wife, as her baby bump was showing now. He was so happy that she was out of danger, and so were his children, both Ellen and the unborn one. This vacation really was the best. "The world is a circle dad." Ellen teased. "So?" Aaron asked sarcastically with a smirk. "So, it does not have a corner." She replied and they laughed. Everything was finally well again, and it was amazing. "Elle has a point, uncle." Stephanie chimed in with a mischievous grin. "Okay smarty pants, have you two never heard the corner of the world being used in an expression before? How annoying. Where would you like to go love?" Aaron feigned annoyance and asked his wife, ignoring the girls. "Hmm, how about Paris? You promised to take us there for a vacation during our honeymoon." Elena said for her daughter's facial expression to change. "Isn't that a great idea Ama? You've always wanted to go there, right?" Elena asked her daughter with excitement. "No!" Came Ellen's sharp reply, startling her mother. "What?" Elena asked, astonished. "I don't want to go to Paris or France or anywhere near there, mom. How about Hawaii?" Ellen replied, getting defensive in the lounge. Even George and Isabella were surprised by her outburst. "Since when did you not like Paris? Isn't it one of your dream places?" Elena asked her daughter, still struggling to understand why she was behaving this way. "I changed my mind mom, please don't ask me why." She answered with a plea. "No, I'm interested to know what made you change your mind. Remember I told you she loved the place, Aaron? What changed?" Elena said, Aaron nodding at her words while he studied the girl. He knew the reason why she was acting this way, but decided to not say anything. It was with great difficulty that they're getting her back, little by little after her trauma, he wouldn't want her to return to that state, should he open his mouth. "Hawaii isn't bad aunty; you'd love it there." Chris jumped in to help, and Stephanie nodded her approval. "Eleanora Wilson, what are you hiding?" Elena questioned, mentioning her full name with a suspicious look after seeing how her daughter behaved, as if Paris had turned into her nemesis. "What do you mean mom?" Ellen asked with a shaky voice. "Okay, I think that's enough. We'll debate on our next location later…" Aaron came to his daughter's rescue, but his wife silenced him. "You are not one to back down from something you put your mind to easily, Ama. Unless you heard a bad report about Paris, there's something definitely changing your mind. What is it honey?" Elena said with concern. Ever since she told her daughter about her dream to visit the French, she promised to take her there, making the place the first of her many dream places to visit. She hasn't taken her there yet, so why was she behaving this way towards the place? "Sweetheart, will you just drop it? We've been to Paris anyway; we'll go somewhere else. A person's mind can change anytime, come on." Aaron spoke. He did not like the sudden turn of events. Now he regretted asking her where she would go. The woman was stubborn already, and now, coupled with pregnancy hormones, she was even more stubborn. "I know we've been there, but she hasn't. I want her to see the Eiffel tower an…" "I've been to Paris!" All eyes turned to the girl, who just exclaimed out of frustration. Enough was enough. Her mother's trust and constant defense was killing her. She already felt guilty she trusted her too much, now she was defending her dream as if she hadn't been to the place already. Ellen couldn't take it anymore, and before she could hold herself in check, she blurted out the truth, covering her lips with wide eyes at how her mother stared at her. "What do you mean you've been to Paris? When, how? With whom?" Elena asked, baffled at what her daughter just said. "Elena I'm sure…" Aaron started. "Shush. I'm sure I'm not the only one who just heard her say that. I mean she clearly said something of that sort, seemingly unintentionally. "Steph, Chris, let's go. We've got some packing to do." George announced, pulling up his wife when Aaron looked at him. He understood they needed privacy immediately. It was only a matter of time before Elena's denial bubble got burst anyway. The kids caught on fast and excused themselves with their parents. "Why are you all leaving?" Elena asked. "I think you need to have a talk with your daughter, Lena. We'll start packing first." Isabella answered her best friend with worry in her eyes. The last time Elena found out about the video, she was hospitalized, how would she react today? She looked at Ellen, who seemed lost once again and sighed. "My love, why don't we go and pack too?" Aaron tried to persuade his wife. "We will, but what do I have to talk to her about? Why is everybody acting strange? And why is she looking like that again?" Elena asked her husband, pointing to their daughter at her last sentence. "Ellen, do you think you can talk to your mom about it yet?" Dr. Jenomiah, who has been observing the change in atmosphere for some time, asked Ellen. "Talk to me about what?" Elena asked, already alarmed. "Mrs. Wilson, I'm gonna need you to calm down, in order for her to talk to you freely. Now Ellen, remember you can do this another time, if you are not ready. We still have to put your mental health first." Dr. Jen spoke to both mother and daughter.
