"Okay, this is getting annoying. Ama, what are you hiding from me? You know better than to keep up with this silent treatment. What is it? Since when did you become afraid to tell me something? Talk to me, child, whatever it is, I'm sure it can't be that bad. You are a good girl, so I don't have any issues with you, unlike other girls out there who behave like they were not trained, but reared. Did something happen in school? Did you come second, third or something? Did you fight with your friends? Say something Ama! What happened? I'm sure we can work something out. You're a smart girl, if it's academics, you'll get back on track, and your friends will come back as well, if you fought. Well, what is it? You are really stressing me out with your silence and tears. Why are you crying, my child? Talk to me." Elena spoke with concern, going to where her daughter was sitting. Ellen just cried bitterly at her mother's words. She didn't even ask if it was a boy problem, because she knows her mom trusts her not to be involved with a boy, especially after she assured her parents some time ago that she was not having any affair with any guy, much less Henry. How was she to tell her that it was about a boy? "Elena, honey why don't we go and get some rest?" Aaron tried once again to get his wife out of there. "Aaron, you might not know this, but she has never been this way before. Something is wrong with her." Elena said, looking at her daughter. "You couldn't tell something was wrong all this while?" Aaron asked with raised brow. Did you not tell me she was sick, so I shouldn't think too much about it?" Elena shot back in irritation, shutting Aaron up. "Why don't you help me get to the bottom of this, instead of trying to get me out of here. Ama, talk to me, I'm your mother. Let me help you in any way I can. Just talk to me. Or is this about a boy?" Elena scolded, asking her daughter the right question this time. She knew it was the right question when Ellen looked at her with teary eyes. "Okay, so it's about a boy. What happened? Did he harass you in school? I know they've always wanted your attention. What did he do?" Elena asked calmly, holding her daughter's hand and wiping her tears. Ellen took in a deep breath, rising from her seat, she decided to tell her mom. Judging from her behavior, it wouldn't be so bad to tell her after all. Maybe she would comfort her, like she said, she's her mother, she would help her, and not leave her. "Um, mom I…" "Ouch!" Ellen begun to narrate, but her mother cried out in pain instead, holding her belly. "Elena!" Aaron was by his wife in a split second. "I, I'm fine. I just felt a…ouch!" Elena tried to calm her husband and daughter, but the sharp pain came again. She was having contractions, but this was really painful. She bit her lip to prevent another cry as her daughter looked apprehensive. Aaron carried her inside to attend to her; the earlier conversation put at bay.
The plane took off, heading to Ghana with Ellen having mixed feelings. She was ready to tell her mom about everything yesterday, but her contractions made it impossible. At least now she had little courage to talk to her mom about it. "Sweetheart, I know you now have the courage to talk about it, and believe me, I have some questions too, but you can't stress your mother like this. She getting worried about your tears made her stressed, and we can't let her have that. So, just focus on getting better for now, we'll discuss this later. Here, I bought this for you. Happy New Year Ellen." Aaron spoke with concern when he went to his daughter's room last night, after putting Elena to bed. Stephanie excused them when he entered. "But dad, I have one at home." Ellen protested the MacBook she was given. "I know that, this is the latest model. I know you smashed the one at home in anger. Don't be surprised, I know certain things." Aaron said, putting the laptop in his daughter's hands, smiling at her wide eyes in shock. She had turned her room upside down some weeks ago, in a fit. Her old MacBook paying the price. She had not told anyone about it, so was surprised her father knew. Then again, he was right, he knew certain things. After all, he was this close to knowing her relationship with Henry, and that she lost her v-card the same day she denied being the girl he saw. Now that the truth was out, her father definitely knew she was the one. "I'm sorry dad, thank you." Ellen said meekly, with tears in her eyes. "It's okay sweetheart, I'm just glad this vacation wasn't a waste. Your health and your mother's is what's important to me, I can get upset later." Aaron said, holding his daughter in a protective embrace. Ellen felt safe just thinking about the fact that she had her father by her side. She was indeed blessed to have Aaron Wilson as her father, but underneath, she was sad she disappointed them this way. Chris' hand on hers drew her back to the flight she was in. He was sitting by her as Steph had to go back to Canada, despite her pleas to go home with them. "The next time you'll come to Ghana, will be when you've grown with sense, young lady. I can't have you following the same people, who only toy with you because you are credulous. You couldn't even protect Ellen from that boy, when you had front row seat to what he's capable off." George had scolded his daughter with anger. Words could not describe how disappointed he was in his princess, for allowing that good for nothing boy to fool not just her again, but Ellen as well. Chris was not the only one upset with her after all. "But dad..." "But nothing! I've spoilt you too much that you lack a good sense of judgement." George shut her up. Steph blinked back her tears, turning to her mom …" Mom?" "I have never been as disappointed as I am in you now, Naa. You even hid it from us this time. You know what we went through because of him, how could you allow it again? I'm with your father this time, you have to stay away and focus on your studies. You can come after high school." Isabella added, hardening her heart against her daughter's tears.
