Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

‎A notification popped up on his phone lighting the screen. It was a message from Felix. He took his phone and read the message.

‎ [Mr. Crew, There's A Serious Problem!

‎I just found out from some workers in the Hitler home that your bride ran away with her lover. And the Hitler tried to hide it by using their adopted daughter as a substitute.

‎What do we do? The marriage has long been sealed. The guest are already living.]

‎He slammed the phone on the table taken everyone in the board room by surprised. A new wave of anger surging through his body. What do the Hitlers take him for? A fool? A pushover? Do they think he was someone they could deceive and get away with it that easily? He was definitely going to show them that messing with him their greatest mistake.

‎"Mr. Crew, is everything alright?" one of the board member asked. Damien rose his head and gave them a cold blooded look one after the other, like a predator ready to attack his prey at any time. "Do I also look like a pushover to you too?" asked them. They all bent their head. No one dared to look at him talk more of giving him an answer.

‎"Meeting adjourned." He dismissed them. Everyone immediately took their stuffs hurrying out of the board room. Damien sighed trying to ease his mind. He picked up his phone again and messaged Felix.

‎[Bring her to the Mansion. We'd discuss when you get back.]

‎He typed and hit the send bottom.

‎He ran his hands through his hair twice. Trying to ease his frustration. He sighed again, he stood up from his chair, packed his things and finally walked out of the room.

‎He got to the office, walked straight to the mini fridge at the other end of this office. He took out a bottle of cold water and chunked everything down his throat in attempt to cool himself down.

‎ Damien walked back to his chair, sunk into it. All his efforts to calm himself down all failed. Maybe drowning himself on some documents could help him get distracted. He sat down properly on his seat, sighing once again. He began diving right back into work.

‎ *******************

‎Its been more than 2 hours and Damien haven't raised his head from his work once talk more of taking a rest. The sound of his phone ringing finally made him stop. He picked up the phone, caller ID indicated Felix. "Speak." he said after answering the call. "Mrs. Crew just arrived at the mansion." Felix said. "Don't call her that." Damien said a bit annoyed. "Come on Man, you guys are already married. The title is hers already." Felix teased. "Get your unserious self down here before I get pissed." Damien replied . "Ask Benson to come meet me at the office." he added before hanging up. He dropped the phone back on the desk. He sighed rubbing his hands on his face, before going right back to work.

‎He stood up from his table with some documents and walked out of the office. He needed to get copies of some documents. It was until he stepped out of his office before noticing how silent the whole building was. "Why's everywhere so silent?" He stretched out his left wrist to check the time. It was far past closing hours. "Getting copied isn't the job of a CEO." Damien mumbled to himself. "I need to get a new secretary." His last secretary got fired for mishandling a few documents and since then Felix has also been doing the job of a secretary too.

‎The photocopy machine made a beep sound notifying the user that it was done. Damien took the papers and went back to his office. That was the last documents he needed to attend to. He was finally done with his task for the day.

‎A few minutes later, the door opened and Felix walked in. "Am back. Miss me?" He joked. "I've got no time for jokes Felix." He replied seriously. "Benson?" Damien asked. "He should be on his way already." Felix replied. "Set a meeting with Mr. Andrew, I need a divorce agreement." Damien said folding his hands around his chest. Felix Chuckled. "Wait... You're being serious?" the smiled vanished from his face almost instantly. "You just got married and you're already planning to get divorced?" This is the most selfish thing he's ever heard. "Did you realize you're being selfish right now?" "This marriage was meant for business purpose only. If I can't benefit from it, then there's no point keeping it." Damien replied nonchalantly.

‎Felix looked at him a little pissed. He wasn't surprised by his friends words though. Damien has always been like that. Not caring about anything else but business. No one could handle him except Felix. Everyone who has ever Ben around him, either end up running away out of fear or becomes his enemy. He had no friends except for Felix. Ever since his parents died in a car crash when he was eighteen, the only family he had was His Grandfather and cousin sister.

‎Felix gave out a little sigh before continuing. "What about your wife? Have you thought about how this might affect her?" Damien didn't say a word. He didn't feel even the slightest bit of sympathy or remorse for his so called wife. "This decision might ruin her future. Do you think anyone would want to marry her again after the mighty and all Damien Crew rejected her?" "She'd be bullied by everyone." Felix added but still got no reaction from Damien.

‎The office fell silent for a few minutes. Felix finally got his attention with the question he asked next. "What if she has much more to offer than her Model sister?" Damien turned to look at him. Now Finding the discussion interesting. "What'd you think an adopted daughter would have to offer?" He asked with furrowed brows. "You can only find out when you meet with her." Felix shrugged. Damien stood there thinking his right hand placed a little below his chest. He tested his left elbow on it while use his left hand to caress his jawline.

‎'What can an adopted daughter who he has never heard of, or has never been seen or heard about has more to offer than the original heiress of the Hitler family. Except if she has a hidden talent or is a secretly famous person.'

‎A knock on the door brought him back from his few seconds trip to thought land. He raised his head looking towards the direction of the sound. Then came in Benson his butler. He stood at the front of his desk and bowed his head in greetings. "You asked to see me Sir." Benson said. "How's the bride?" Damien asked. "Mrs. Crew seems nice and quiet. I don't think she'd give you any trouble." Benson replied. "Mrs. Crew isn't the real bride. The original bride ran off with her lover so the Hitlers used their adopted daughter as a substitute." Felix chipped in. "Mr. Crew here, is thinking of divorcing her. Benson you're older and have more experience than us. Do you think that's a good idea?" Felix asked. "That's not a gods idea sir." Benson replied. "Divorcing Mrs. Crew immediately after marriage won't affect her alone. It will lo ruin your reputation." He continued. "Most of your clients and business partners are married men who value family more than anything. So keeping a married status will not boost your reputation, but also make you more respected. Given them more reason to trust you and do more business with you. Which will help you grow the company alot more." Benson reason.

‎"So her playing the role of Mrs. Crew is the only thing she's offering?" Damien asked again. He wasn't fully satisfied. "Having a decent wife is more respectful than a wife who'd pose for anything." Benson replied. The room fell silent again this time it was longer. "Prepare a contract agreement for me immediately." Damien ordered finally breaking the silence. "What for?" Felix asked.

‎"If she'll be playing the role of Mrs. Crew, she needs to know what part to play. And if she fails, the consequences she'd face..."
