One day the villagers told him of a place where the weed looked pale and sickly. Lohumi inspected the spot for days and nights. He hunted with magnifying glass and flashlight for insect activity. The villagers thought that he had gone mad but he continued his search. To his surprise, one day he noticed several small insects falling off the shrub and flying about. They were of the size of a pin head. Later on they were identified as 'Teleonemia scrupulosa'. It is a bug found in Central and South America.
Lohumi carefully collected some of these insects and began to study their behavior more closely. He observed that they fed on the lantana weed and caused it to weaken and dry up. This discovery excited him, as he realized that these insects could be used to control the spread of the weed naturally. He shared his findings with other experts and authorities, who supported his idea. Soon, efforts were made to introduce the insect in affected areas. Over time, the lantana weed began to decline, proving that Lohumi's persistence and careful observation had led to an effective solution.
