Chapter 6: Room 1101
The hospital didn't feel like a hospital.
It felt… too perfect.
Too clean.
Too quiet.
Tanoy stepped into the elevator and pressed the button.
11
The doors closed.
His reflection stared back at him.
Tired.
Uneasy.
Uncertain.
Ding.
The doors opened.
The corridor was silent.
Cold.
Almost lifeless.
Tanoy walked slowly, checking each door.
Then he found it.
1101
He stood still.
For a moment—
He hesitated.
Then he pushed the door open.
The room was bright.
Spacious.
And in the center—
A small girl lay on a hospital bed.
She couldn't have been more than ten.
Her face was pale.
An oxygen mask covered her mouth.
Thin tubes ran across her fragile body, connecting her to machines that beeped softly.
Tanoy's chest tightened.
Something felt wrong.
Not just her illness.
But the stillness.
The silence.
"She has a brain tumor."
Tanoy turned.
A doctor stood at the door.
"Advanced stage," he continued. "Carcinoma."
Tanoy swallowed. "Can she be saved?"
The doctor shook his head.
"No."
The word echoed.
Heavy.
Final.
"Her organs are failing," the doctor added. "We're only keeping her stable."
Tanoy looked back at the girl.
"She feels pain?"
The doctor hesitated.
"When she's conscious… yes."
Tanoy closed his eyes briefly.
A child.
Suffering like this.
"She won't live long," the doctor said.
Then he left.
Silence returned.
Tanoy stood there for a long moment.
Then slowly—
He walked out.
The man was waiting in the car.
Exactly where he had left him.
Tanoy got in.
His voice was low.
Tense.
"Why did you bring me here?"
The man stared ahead.
Then said quietly—
"She's my daughter."
Tanoy froze.
"My only daughter," the man continued.
His voice was different now.
Heavy.
Painful.
"And I want you to kill her."
Everything stopped.
Tanoy's heart pounded.
His mind went blank.
"What…?"
"I want you to end her suffering," the man said.
Tanoy stared at him in disbelief.
"You're insane."
But the man didn't react.
Didn't argue.
Didn't raise his voice.
He simply said—
"I'll pay you anything you want."
And in that moment—
Tanoy realized—
This wasn't a misunderstanding.
This wasn't a joke.
This was the deal.
And his answer…
Would change everything.
