Soft gal era, no tropes
Lay down the ''strong black woman' trope,
While it served its purpose, its okay to just be.
Allow our emotions to express themselves no hindrance
A safe space of being.
It's okay to enter into your soft girl era black woman,
It does not make you weak.
Just know you have your community backing you,
And standing beside you to uplift you.
In Christ, we are to be gentle and loving as doves and yet still wise,
Open to receive and yet still guard the gate of what comes in and out.
In this season, we are becoming whale and healing,
The end is near but this is just the beginning.
Our voices will be heard, and emotions will be given place to be held.
So lay down black woman,
Enter into your rest,
Lean on those who are for you,
And have your interest at best.
